Prospect Brandon Wood was born March 2, 1985.

He has not been in professional baseball long enough to necessitate placement on the Angels' 40-Man Roster.

There was

a feature on him on the team site a few months ago, first time I had heard of him - big stud for the Orem Owlz.

Out of the D.R., Arredondo was originally a shortstop but after struggling at the plate for a couple of years was converted to a pitcher. He's got a tremendous fastball but needs to develop his other pitches. Anyway, he came on strong late last season for the Orem Owlz, contributing big-time during the playoffs.

Speaking of age

With Finley gone, this is probably the first time there's been no one on the 40-man as old as me. Sigh.

At least Damion Easley is still in the bigs; we were on the same JV team together (he was actually a backup, and I was a starter! At least until I tore up my knee)....
