Rev, you look quite proud in this photo, but i gotta say your girlfriend looks like she'd prefer not to be pulled close to you -- as if she's become a human shield against New Yorkers' projectiles at the stadium.

Yeah
... either that or she's thinking about how New York is not her kinda place.

I've heard
though can't confirm (having no first-hand experience), that Yankee fans aren't too bad toward opposing fans, with the exception of the Sox and Mets (in which case, you might as well call the ambulance before the game, because those shank wounds don't heal themselves).

Nope
I was in the Bronx one month after 9/11/01 and the Yankees were playing the A's in the playoffs. One guy in the bleacher seats was wearing Oakland gear and minding his own business. He got heckled and had stuff thrown at him all night. He even got the Bronx cheer, with "Ass Hole" being chanted his way for an inning straight.

personal anecdote in the Bronx
In 1997 I was passing through NY and had the opportunity to see the Angels play the Yanks. I sported my old-school visor, despite warnings from NY friends. On the way into the stadium, I saw absolutely nobody wearing Angels gear, which did not surprise me (remember, in 1997 it was rare to see Angels gear even in the Big Ed!). The lone exception was an entire family of 4 -- everybody wearing the perriwinkle jerseys and caps -- and I had to approach them. Turns out, they were from Newport Beach on vacation in NYC.

During the game, I never stood up to cheer and tried not to draw too much attention to myself -- although I certainly did clap when good things happened. It was only in the 7th inning, with the Angels up 7-2, that I started hearing the catcalls.

"Hey, why don't you take dat hat an' go back t' Anaheim!" was the most common jeer I received.

Thankfully, the abuse got no worse than that. One guy's girlfriend even scolded him after one such catcall.

No harm, no foul. Just another Halo victory against the Yanks.
