Tejada instead of Manny ?

Read this excellent statistical analysis of Manny Ramirez and Miguel Tejada and consider maybe trading Orlando Cabrera and Juan Rivera to Baltimore for Miggy.

Of course, every headline writer in the world awaits the best headline trade: Cabby and Figgy for Miggy.

But....

... that analysis assumes that Ramirez is your starting LF. He wouldn't be ours, so that -28 runs thingie is basically erased. Also the chances of the Orioles accepting Cabby and Rivvy for Miggy are exactly zero, and we've got a future Tejada maybe one year away from the bigs.

Ramirez is the MUCH better fit, even if Tejada is the better player.

Helen and I were in Santa Ana the other day, headed over to Austin Hardwoods, when she saw what she thought was a DiSarcina Field. Does anyone know if that's right?

Tejada

For us to get Tejada, we'd have to give up a pitcher and a stud, or a stud pitcher and a solid player. Rivera and Cabrera would draw laughs if they won't do Manny and Clement for him.

At this point...

I hate to sound so drab...but, folks, we're not getting manny, miggy, ziggy, or even ms piggy. Stoneman wont trade away anything the other side wants. He is going to rely on young sticks. We will not have that primary need filled going into this season, with the exception of what our rookie talent may - or may not - provide.

Look at the bright side. Maybe we'll get Manny in, what, 3 years, when he's a FA (Angels getting big star talent at the END of their careers? Naww...never happen [sarcasm]).
