Weaver World Series game winning pitcher?

How incredibly disgusting would this be? This Goldilocks look-alike, single-handedly ruined our first half of the season, and now has a chance to be the winning pitcher in the decisive game of the World Series. I, for one, will be rooting hard for the Tigers tonight.

I love Eckstein, but I think I hate Weaver a little more.

Mmmmm

It would definitely be odd. I don't get the hate so much. I mean we tried him and it didn't work, plus we got a decent prospect out of it. I think his sucess for the last few weeks or so is some combination of the easier league, more time to get straightened out and a new pitching coach to try some new ideas.

Of course the it might really be Jered pitching out there, since the Angels have been on vacation for so long.

the mere thought of Weaver The Lesser becoming a hero after not only his dismal performance with the Angels this season but his snarkiness toward the Angels in the press....makes me ill.

The way it shall be solved

Weaver blows it by the fourth inning. I mean BLOWS it. He's yanked to loud boos and jeers (even a few "We want Jered!"s thrown in there). Then the Cards rally and stage a massive comeback to win it all with 2 out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth.

That way the Cards still win (meaning that we can get on with the postseason) and Weaver gets nothing.

I am appalled

At the prospect of WTS (Weaver The Shitty) being the WS-winning pitcher.

He, perhaps more than any other individual player, is responsible for the Angels not being in the postseason. I don't think it would be hard to come up with four games he lost which Joe Saunders or WTY would have won (or at least kept the team in the game). If he'd even been mediocre, that would have been sufficient.

But noooooooooo!

Jeff turned his season around

and Detroit turned there's into the wrong direction. Back to the cellar and stay their. I guess Leyland is really the greatest manager ever.

The great 5-4, 5.18ERA turnaround

With a 2-2, 2.91 postseason. He wasn't as great as everyone would have you think (albeit, was amazing tonight). He was roughed up in game 2, giving the Cards their only loss in the series. Certainly not ring-worthy regular season perfomances for the Cards, and an above-average postseason. Big meh.

While Fox and ESPN are choking on themselves

Jeff has got a ring. It is not his fault the Cards signed him. Thats baseball. Eckstien had a bad year, his last with the Angels, so did Spiezio. Y. Molina was terrible at the plate this year. Yet they still beat the "Best Team Ever" if you listen to Baseball Tonight. So what if the Tigers have pitchers who throw 100. If you can't throw it to first or third, what good are you.
