Torre gone?

Looks like they are waiting for him to resign or they will simply fire him...

Will be interesting to see what happens.  I'm happy -- more turmoil and chaos for the evil empire.

Cashman
I am sure is imploring every Yankee higher-up to squelch any A-Rod trade talk in order to maximize the unclutch-one's value.

Well, as the old saying goes
Fuck the Rangers.

and if that isn't an old saying, we should make it one.  I can't say I'm terribly scared though.  If you don't have good pitching, you just don't have it.  the Rangers don't.

Bad Situation For Him...
...it would be like the Yankees, but worse. Good hitters, no discernible pitching = third place in the A.L. West. No pitching is what led to the Yankees' failure this year.

I'm surprised no one has clamored for Torre to reclaim his old job from Rex Hudler.

That was my first thought.
But, you know he's gonna take a job in the dugout before a job in the booth.

Maybe, Maybe Not....
...the guy is 66. He's had health concerns the last few years. His brother Frank did as well, and that might have had an affect on him. He may very well decide there isn't much left to prove. While an Angel TV job might not be what he does, FOX or ESPN would love to have him. That way he stays in the game and doesn't have the day to day hassles.

The Boss
"This result is absolutely not acceptable to me nor to our great and loyal Yankee fans."

I was reading somewhere that he added the word "absolutely" into that statement after sending it out.  He was that pissed. hahaha

I wouldn't be surprised...
if Torre stopped managing.  He is an old fella, and he doesn't have much to gain going somewhere else.

Plus, I'm not even sure he's that great of a manager.  He was brilliant at managing high priced egos and keeping people on the same page, which is perfect for New York.  However, day to day managing I don't think he stands out.

The Yankees
need more role players.  You can't win with a team full of All-Stars.

That being said, why would we help them by giving them some of our pitching.  We kick their ass every year.  I say no to A-Rod.  Yes to Soriano and Garciaparra at DH.

So basically
Steinbrenner was playing hot head like he did with every other day with Billy Martin.

Maybe, or...
... the New York press was making stories up again.
Fire Mickey Hatcher. An entire generation of Angels offense depends upon it.

dunno
it does sound like Georgie though. It seemed to be plastered too much EVERYWHERE(si.com and mlb.com-who their sources are--who knows?) for there not to be a shred of truth in it.
