Eric Gagne as a setup man.

Sure, he's coming off multiple injury seasons, but that also limits the kind of dollars he can extract. Arte's already shown during the Jered Weaver negotiations that he's not afraid to play hardball with a Scott Boras client. Gagne certainly won't get any offers from the Dodgers, who are fed up with his tough guy act. Anything close to right, and he's at least Scot Shields' equal.  (Remember, he trained as a starter, so he's got terrific endurance, too.)

For the purposes of speculation, how does 2 years and $8M as a starting point sound?
