It looks like Charles Nagy is going to get the job. He was apparently Bud Black's choice to succeed him. ESPN is reporting that another strong candidate, Dave Wallace, has signed on to be the pitching coach for the Houston Astros.
The promotion of Nagy opens up a spot that could be filled by Troy Percival. Though there is sentimental support for hiring Percy as the Angels' pitching coach, it seems kinda risky to hand that job over to someone with no previous coaching experience. Maybe in a few years, though.
