Trade Idea
Since The Stoneman and Scioscia Company has chucked the idea of clubhouse chemistry by signing Shea "Sinking Ship" Hillenbrand, I have an idea ... how about Joe Saunders to the Mets for Lastings Milledge?
Milledge is a bat
He covers for Rivera
He will make Shea seem compliant
He might high-five you during the game on the way to the field if you are in the first row of the Field Section
Hector Carrasco and Darren Oliver create a "Fifth Starter" controversey for this blog to revel in

Lastings

What do you mean?
with absolutely no outfield prospects in theminors
having seen milledge play on numerous occasions, there is no doubt in my mind that he will soon be a tremendous player and an all-star for many years to come.
the fact that he got carried away and highfived fans to upset the opponent should be applauded. not enough passion in baseball.
saunders for milledge would be a steal.

I like it
Lastings is very toosly and unpolished, but he showed some bright spots while up for the Mets. Saunders is at BEST a career #4 starter. Carrasco/Oliver can fill a void, and hopefully someone from the minors will step up. And there's always Colon (whom I'm not counting on either).

You have to feel sorry when a club's name
The gold-and-green may have mocked us about "of Anaheim" but at least it has Disneyland.
Happiest place on earth > BART station

Frustration
You must really hate Hillebrand and/or be extremely frustrated with the Angels.
Take a deep breathe bro. The season hasn't started yet, so there is still a chance for the Angels to do more to piss you off.
Don't blow a gasket just roll a fatty and relax..............

i think the frustration lies in the fact that...
so what does stoneman do in the offseason?
he overpays for a defensive specialist/inconsistent offensive player in CF, signs 2 relievers, and a DH/awful fielding 1B/3B.
that's not a successful offseason in my opinion, and it's absolutely a source of frustration.

Agree with Stoneman or Not
As for the free agent market, the Angels made some runs at players, but Artie has been quoted as saying he didn't want to mortgage the franchise for 1 player. And we cannot fault other players for making "thier" choice to play somewhere else. If Scioscia has been the problem since '04 then we all would have been reading posts about Mike and blaming him for everything. Plus it seems amazing to me that if nobody wanted to play for Mike that it has been kept such a secret for sooo long.
Yes it's frustrating not to have a major bat signed these past two seasons, but I would rather have one of the best (if not THE best) pitching staffs and a crappy offense, than the other way around. As for all of the errors last year, that was a freak thing that surpised every single baseball expert/analysist out there.
If the Angels do not make the playoffs this year and it is again, because of a lack of offense, then the organization will need to look itself in the mirror. If any changes should have been made managerially, it should have started with the firing of Mickey Hatcher a year ago.
I am still excited about the Angels next year. WHY....because I know that our pitching will keep us in every game and will win many games for us. Let's just hope that everyone BALLS next year while relaxing and having a good time.
Bring on 07

Don't think that trade will work
But since attitude be damned, why didn't we try and bring in Beroids Bonds to DH? Now that's a hitter worthy of hitting behind Vlad.

If the Mets are even the least bit receptive
Just do something. Obtaining the white boy version of Jose Guillen/Raul Mondesi/Milton Bradley alone doesn't cut it.
His name goes with angels lore
of course that may not mean he is going to be a great hitter.
