Jarod is out for revenge
I can't wait to see him go up against GA, Vld and Kingfish,

Angels 3 runs, 12 hits
M's 4 runs, 10 hits

Fish
Am I the only one not jumping on the Salmon bandwagon? I think Rivers brings much more to the team than Salmon at this point. It will be a shame if Salmon plays a big role on this team, at the expense of Rivers.

by WiseAndEck on Apr 5, 2006 7:58 AM PDT up reply actions

i'm with you
i'm not with PapiFish yet, but i must admit i'm pleasantly surprised by his performance so far. whatever happens, i hope he doesn't take ABs away from rivera.

by yeswecan on Apr 5, 2006 10:38 AM PDT up reply actions

It would be idiotic
to give at bats to a fragile old man over a young man who needs them to show what he can do. If Salmon spells anybody, let it be GA who is hurting already.
Nolan Ryan for president!

Fragile Old Man???
This "fragile old man" is hitting .600 with two bombs. I think you should reevaluate your position. If Salmon outproduces Johnny R. he should get more DH AB's. The plan was for them to split time anyway. As I said in my post on Salmon last night Scioscia has said he wants Fish to start three games a week. What's wrong with that? I WANT a resurgent Salmon in the line-up. If you don't you're simply being foolish...

by Jack Frost on Apr 5, 2006 5:38 PM PDT up reply actions

Mickey doesn't bring jack...
Mickey's done retired long ago. Isn't he a coach or something with the Ranggers or Skankees. He had his time now its time to pass the baton.

Kingfish has been rejuvenated. Having the big layoff has helped not only the big injury, but also got rid of all those tiny little aches & pains that build up into one big suckka'that bother the aged.

Timmy won't be stealing any AB's from no one. He can't play that much or he will break down. He'll be a situation player for now. But when he does play he will be ready, and ready to contribute. Look at what he did yesterday, and Salmon will be like that for the rest of the season.

Healthy Kingfish + Angels + love of the game = mc squared

I think...
he was talking about Juan Rivera (aka "John Rivers")

BTW, he's the starting DH today. Go Kingfish!

Timmy
is starting DH today (just to clarify)

Wash's "Plan"
From mlb.com:

'Former Angels left-hander Jarrod Washburn makes his Mariners debut Wednesday afternoon at Safeco Field and he'll have the "pleasure" of facing the slugger [Vladimir Guerrero].

'"I have seen guys get him out over the years and taken some mental notes," Washburn said. "I have a plan."'

wash's plan
I'm betting he's planning to rely on his change-up for Vlad. He can't expect to get Vlad out with his diminished fastball or crappy curve

What!!!!??
Am I missing something here? Why would you leave a hot Juan Rivera out of this line-up? Isn't this what we have been counting on/hoping for all offseason? Juan becomes an everyday player and we don't need Konerko? Now it's the third game of the season and he's being yanked? Why not spell Anderson against the lefty Washburn?

Also, when was the last time Figgy played 2nd when Kennedy was healthy? Weird!

Ummmm game 3 i see...
maybe the manager is trying to find out what his team is made of.

maybe giving everyone, in this the deepest lineup in the league, a chance to show what they got.

maybe testing new waters, taking the new car for a test ride.

maybe not trying to ruffle any feathers. trying to find the right chemistry.

Go Mike Go do what you have to do.

Wild Pitch my ass
that was a 100% pass ball, Mathis tried to olay it with bases loaded in the 8th. Someone teach him to move his body to block the ball. I am sure Mike is going to have a nice talk with him.

Mathis +'s on the day:
Got a hit in the 9th
Throughout a runner

Mathis's -'s on the day:
Through the ball into center field when Beltre tries stealing
Didn't make contact with two strikes and the runners going
2 Wild Pitches (2 Pass balls in my opinion)

Hopefully he learns from today and becomes a better player for it
