Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Game 81/162

Game thread - Dodgers at Angels - Billingsley vs. Lackey - 12:35 p.m.

Star-divide

How about the fan at the game who went in wearing blue but forgot the sunscreen and wore red for days on end?

Intentionally Altered Movie Lines:
John Lackey: You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but every day I hear people crying for one.

The new Superman is behind Spiderman and Batman, but the air conditioned theater made it worth it, of course...

Wow
Billingsly has a great fastball... good news is, young kids (especially hurlers) tend to run out of gas and get wild.

wow...cubbies are kicking ass
1st inning---7 runs, yes I said 7 in one inning.

Curious
Can I lay claim to coining "Napoleon Dynamite" for our favorite rookie?

Napoli
The NAPSTER, or the TERMI-NAPSTER is definitely a welcome relief..when they traded B-MO and brought Napoli in i thought here goes the team....but holy cow!!!!!!!!  I think i too am in love....i was in love with Big Mikey when he caught for the dodgers and now Little Mikey..

by angelsrallymom on Jul 2, 2006 1:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Friday's game
Saturday's LA Times Sports section had a picture of a dejected Colon leaving the mound with large type "It's still dodgers' town".....Sunday's sports section had a little article on the bottom of the page..."No Doubts about it, Angels needed this"....we beat the mighty dodgers and that leaves a bad taste in their mouths....the columnist was correct though when he wrote that positive attitude has been missing.....

by angelsrallymom on Jul 2, 2006 1:11 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah
The Cobs Sox game is a wild one... Had a 9 run first inning that took all of five minutes

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 1:19 PM PDT reply actions

Wow
That's what you call a rookie mistake

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 1:20 PM PDT reply actions

Billingsly looks like a closer
Lights out.... then this stuff.  I think he's a natural sprinter the Dadgers are trying to make a long distance runner.  This ought to be their new Gagne

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 1:22 PM PDT reply actions

Gagne = Gimp
Would not wish that on the kid

by Rev Halofan on Jul 2, 2006 1:24 PM PDT up reply actions

CABRERA = #59
That steal of home was the season highlight, and the shot of Colon on the bench with Cabrera laughing like a jolly beardless Santa is in the top ten.

by Rev Halofan on Jul 2, 2006 1:25 PM PDT reply actions

still say Colon
looks like a Dominican Republic Sideshow Bob

I'm really torn here
I'd love another Angels blowout, but SHields and K-Rod are on my FBteam, and I need holds and saves.

It's weird
watching the other team blow a game with errors

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 2:18 PM PDT reply actions

Let's hope this hitting keeps up
until the break, 3 at Seattle then 4 at Oakland.

BIG BAD JOHN!

by rowast on Jul 2, 2006 2:24 PM PDT reply actions

A good one tomorrow
Weaver versus King Felix.  Felix had a rough start but is starting to deal.

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 2:25 PM PDT reply actions

A great chance
If we take 2 of 3 from Seattle and a split or a 3 of 4 from Oakland, we're in great shape.  We've got hte right Weaver on the team, Lackey, Santana and Escobar are dealing and Colon could come back... and it's just two games, but the D looks good and we're hitting.

by johnsamo @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 2:30 PM PDT reply actions

oh man
Darrel Cousins looks really hurt.

My new favorite Rex Hudler quote
"We've got a little bit of delay in time."

by Sean @ Halos Heaven on Jul 2, 2006 2:36 PM PDT reply actions

Wow
I didn't think it was possible, but Rex is at least twice as annoying when you watch him talk too.

by leftwing on Jul 2, 2006 2:38 PM PDT reply actions

Heh Hud ...
Vinnie has what they call talent thats how he does it.

Also I like the shaft "the Hud" gets from Mr.Scully

ANGEL-BALL IS BACK!!!!!
our angels are back on track...they are playing angel-ball...even AK is back.....Kennedy did a slow-mo knock-over of the catcher..lol....

by angelsrallymom on Jul 2, 2006 2:45 PM PDT reply actions

some explain to me
I really don't understand going on contact with the infield in. Especially to the left side. If it goes to somebody, you're dead, if it gets through, you have plenty of time. I don't get it.

by leftwing on Jul 2, 2006 2:46 PM PDT reply actions

ya
maybe someone should tell mike that..i fully agree with you

by hathaway93 on Jul 2, 2006 2:46 PM PDT up reply actions

that's Mikey's politics
run 'em aggressively.....warranted or not

by ladybug on Jul 2, 2006 2:48 PM PDT up reply actions

Did Hudler just say last place is a good place to be in? What a retard.

by WiseAndEck on Jul 2, 2006 3:05 PM PDT reply actions

Hey Frankie
Its not fair throwing that kind of stuff to rookies.

by leftwing on Jul 2, 2006 3:14 PM PDT reply actions

5 games back baby
As much as has gone wrong this season, we've still got great pitching. If we can play better defense and score a few runs, we can still win this thing.

Now let's go beat up on the division this week.

by leftwing on Jul 2, 2006 3:16 PM PDT reply actions

OK, somebody's not doing their job
LIGHT UP THAT HALO..........
Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust another Halo victory.

I haven't seen those statements in so long; it's nice to say it again!!

by ladybug on Jul 2, 2006 3:44 PM PDT reply actions

lighting up the halo
you haven't heard it in so long because the pod people took our angels and left a bunch of losing bozos in their place...but the angels are back!!!!  good game....

Donnelly "hurting" confirmed
"Scioscia said Brendan Donnelly has been bothered by tightness in the trapezius muscle in his upper back, a condition that restricted him from adequately finishing his pitches. Donnelly faced four batters Saturday and walked three of them. Scioscia said there is no thought to putting Donnelly on the disabled list..."

by pattimelt on Jul 2, 2006 10:15 PM PDT reply actions

maybe he can visit some of
myspacecobar's "massage therapists" and get that muscle loosened...giggle giggle giggle

by ladybug on Jul 2, 2006 10:23 PM PDT up reply actions

and a few others, too!
Now, what if it were Napoli that needed the "massage"?

I'm a nurse...
I'm sure there will be a medically necessary reason. Besides, I think Patti will volunteer first so I will be medical resource for her (as if she needed any guidance on what to do-I would only serve to resuscitate the poor kid)
