Team Coast to Coast Travel

Any Help?

Does anyone have insight into the following questions re: a coast to coast night trip for the team?

What kind of charter does the team have?
Does the team need to dress in suits like the Yankees do? How dumb.
Where does the plane land? OC? LAX?
When the team arrives in SoCal, how does GA get to Tustin?
Where do the players who don't live locally stay?

I always marveled at the logistics planning for MLB teams since they travel with large #'s of people and do it constantly.

When I took my boys to Angels games when they were little, I always told them to keep their eyes on Erstad, and watch how he played the game. 100% full throttle on everything. Ok, so he was not a lifetime .355 hitter. He helped me teach some small life lessons and I owe him for that. Much later, they bought me an Erstad jersey for Father's Day because they knew, and they remembered.

So, his playing style has finally caught up with him. He learned too late to take it easy on his body when the collision course was not mandatory.

Even if we see him on the field again he will be a shell of himself, and a prime target for the fans who who either forgot, or never knew.

But damn, if that had been Erstad in his first year on Saturday, instead of Napoli, Varitek would still be in orbit!

ALL players need to put on a suit jacket (does NOT have to have a tie) to travel.

Where does the plane land? OC? LAX?

Depends on where and when the team travels. Normally, they fly out of and in to OC, but on trips like last night's, OC is closed after 11, so the team flies into Ontario.

When the team arrives in SoCal, how does GA get to Tustin?

Charter busses pick up the team at the airport and then the team is delivered to the stadium, to pick up their own vehicles that were left in the parking lot. Also, if you have a spouse/friend that is willing to pick you up, they can do that.

Where do the players who don't live locally stay?

This one I'm not telling. Let's just say that nobody is hurting.

If you want to really be a stalker and find out when/where the team is flying, The team flies a Delta charter, and the flight is 9783. You can pull up the flight on the delta website. It will even give you the gate number for departure or arrival.

Don't ask me how I know this, cause then I'll end up looking like a stalker (even though most of you already KNOW I am... ) :)
