Ha ha ha. Figgy was instrumental in the just completed series victory over our hated rivals from the north. As I have been saying for the last few weeks, Figgy CAN hit. He simply slumped early. Plain and simple.
He has proven himself as a major league hitter and is invaluable on this team. He is our lead-off hitter of the present and future. So shame on all of you who so quickly turned on a guy who has been a true sparkplug at the top of the order and has provided crucial defensive flexibility for Scioscia.
I know it is frustrating for us fans when players slump, but the baseball season is a long one. Figgy has shown the last week that he has not suddenly lost his ability to hit or steal bases or score runs. Further, I'm predicting an auspicious second half for Figgy in which he hits .295 or better. Look out A's and Rangers!
