Adenhart and Wood in USA squad
Nick Adenhart and Brandon Wood have both been put on the USA roster for the qualification tournament for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Both will leave their minor league team (Rancho and Arkansas respectively) and go for prep at the Astros training complex before the start of the tournament on August 26th.
Wood being there is obviously good, but Adenhart got shelled in his last start (Saturday) pitching less than 5 innings and giving up 5 runs on 11 hits, so maybe it isn't a great thing that he's going, although the experience might do him good.

I thought they ...
olympics
don't fret too much about Adenhart's last start - it was in Lancaster -Cal League's Coors Field (circa 2002).
a good honor for them both.
last November i had the pleasure of catching the prelude to this tournament in Arizona - that version of the Olympic Team had Kendrick, Wood, Mathis, and Weaver, and we went 5-0.
