Racism in Oakland
Ichiro at bat, gets a hit, what does the Athletics' poster say:
Where's the freaking Enola Gay... when you need it.
the Enola Gay was the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, 61 year ago this week.
The tauntings of "Sayonara" to Ichiro were borderline, but his one was disgusting - every so often some idiot from Central California posts that Anaheim is an all-white town with an all-white fanbase - and the taint of racism is cast OUR way - when we all know that with a 50% latino fan base in a 60% latino area of the country and with a Mexican-American owner that it is a ludicrous argument - it is accurate for 1976, uh maybe, but we know that we are never going to get a rational argument from a fan base that is inherently racist like this.
Disgusting.
I love every opportunity to be smug and superior, thanks to the ass-backward Oakland fan base for tolerating infantile racist slurs in order to accomodate me.
This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

Disgusting
How were other people around him responding? Ichiro has a lot of Japanese fans who go see him play road games....Very sad.

Innocuous?
Ask the Rev what it takes to get banned from Halo Heaven. Doesn't take much. You, on the other hand, acted like a jackass because you were pissed that your team lost and the A's won.
Pretty classless, dude. But you knew that already ...

Pissed.
Acting like a jackass, no. I will not act beyond reproach, all of my posts on AN have been deleted but I would gladly post them here and take your criticism.

Wow.
And here I was trying to figure out where that post was coming from.
I read Blez's article like six times looking for hidden meaning. :)

This is what I said...
Soon to be... Zito.
The A's better win the WS this year because they will only have memories of barely being good.
(That was my post in brief. I don't care about being banned, it's not my site and the administrator can do whatever he/she wants to erase dissent, but if you want to call that classless than I will handle you with kid gloves.)

i enjoy posting on AN every once in a while, purely to stoke the friendly rivalry between our teams -- not to talk shit. that's the difference.

Obviously, you're pretty new....
In the meantime, ask someone who AJ Pierszinki and Dave Henderson are.
Losing sucks, but its part of the game. The winning makes it all worth it - ask someone who saw Ryan and Tanana, and get a sense of how much they appreciate 2002.
And let me know when your franchise has more AL West titles than the KC Royals. Until then I'll conitnue think of the Angels as those upstart whippersnappers with that cute little jumping monkey - more novelty than rival.

obviously, you're perceptive
i know what it's like to lose, and that's why i'm thankful (and hopeful) that the angels' mediocrity is in the past. the A's mediocrity, unfortunately for you, is clearly in the present, with no signs of abatement. and if you actually watched the A's in their heyday, then i'd expect you to be pretty pissed these days. i know how it feels.

hey, who knows.......
But with them down 8-0 just now, and Joe Saunders looking like the Joe Saunders we saw last time he was up, I have my doubts. But hey, that shrewd GM you have is always pulling off clever trades. I'm sure he'll pull the trigger on a deal before the waiver deadline.
I've been plenty pissed before, (Reference Giambi, Jeremy: non-slide, Tejada: brain-cramp, and Byrnes: What-was-I-thinking) but not now.
This is a team that's gettin 'er done. Loving that awesome defense.
And if the A's are up by 5+ on you, and you think them mediocre, you must consider the Angels downright crappy. A veritable waste of $100MM+ dollars. But hey, look on the bright side - at least Shrek and GA will help sell lots of paraphernalia while they sit on the bench through the rest of their big money contracts. 2 more years of GA! Ouch - good thing Arte lowered the price of beer, you'll probably need a few to take the edge off.
But hey, Lackey, Santana, and Weaver are a great pitching nucleus to build around. Let's hope Stoneman trades one of them for a big bat this off-season. See ya in April. Until then - good night, sweet prince. As they said in Brooklyn, just wait 'til next year, right?
