Jason Kendall is a dick

Seriously. This guy just plays the game in all the wrong ways. Between sticking his fat freakin elbow pad out over the plate in a pussy attempt to make it to 1st base, to charging the mound and then whining about getting suspended, to baiting batters' interference calls out of the ump, Jason Kendall is just a dick.

And if you are wondering about the sudden outburst, it's because Kendall just ended another game (against Texas) on a bogus batters' interference call. Texas had Huston Street reeling, and Jerry Hairston CLEARLY stole 2nd cleanly. But Kendall pretty much bumped into Mark DeRosa after he already let go of the ball, then turned and whined to the ump and got the call. Game over. Jason Kendall is quickly approaching Barry Bonds-status as my most hated pro athlete.

Okay...

Good to see that Buck has better sportsmanship than me. But I've rewatched it on Tivo quite a bit and the ball had already left his hand when the "interference" occurred.

It seems to me to have been the right call

Whether it was pussy or not, the hitter cannot interfere with the catcher, and DeRosa clearly came across the plate in front of him. Kendall didn't argue it either - the umpire made the call almost instantly without any input. By the way, who is that guy with egg on his face? It looks like all the yoke dripped into his hair.

Kendall does suck

especially on the offensive end, but these are the intangibles he brings to the game. Pretty much why he gets playing time, besides for the HUGE contract. Unfortunately for the A's, that's about it.
As an Angels fan, with a 1 run lead in the ninth, 2 outs, no one on, Kendall is the guy I want to see batting because he has no pop. None. Gotta love him for that. :)

Let's all remember

Kendall scoring when KRod was getting all huffy last year and didn't catch the throw back from the pitcher.

As an A's fan, however, I must say I'm getting tired of him hitting into double plays. But his catching and his "intangibles," as they say, have won us a lot of games fairly single-handedly.
