but not built to win the World Series. Not this year anyway.
I hope I'm wrong...ya'll live in SoCal and see the team up close and personal where I only get to see them when they play a nationally televised game.
From what I can tell they have the pieces in place to have a winning record...but not the pieces to win the WS. I'm sure this has been said previously on this board...but watching the game last night I guess it finally hit home. I'm going to the game Saturday night and I hope to see some intensity I feel has been lacking from this team this year (is that due to Erstad not being on the field?).
I guess I don't see the emotion over hitting in to another inning-ending double play...or popping up or striking out with runners in scoring position or giving up a big hit to tie the game, lose it, send it in to extra innings, etc. It was cool to see the team jumping up and down after Figgy's two game winning hits recently but it would be cool to see more emotion from this team. In this way I kinda miss Jose Guillen.
Does Scioscia preach keeping emotions under control?
