HOF

Well there it is. Another year of idiocy by the HOF voters.

Or I should say half idiocy. Totally cool and expected that Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken go to the Hall. And nice message to Mark McGwire (and others) : No steroids!

Ok, but what about the other side of the message by showing more respect to guys like Blyleven, Goose and Dawson? Their numbers look all that more impressive these days.

I had hopes that they would finally have a chance this year. But it's the same old shit. Same idiot voters.

Oh well I guess there is always the Hall in my head. Congrats to Gwynn and Ripken. Screw you voters!

Unfortunately...
...Blyleven received a lower percentage of the votes this year than last year (53.3% vs. 47.7%).  Hopefully, that's just because some (stupid) voters will only vote for a certain number of players each year, and since Ripken and Gwynn were locks, it took some votes away from Bert.

He's the best eligible pitcher not in the HOF, and, in my opinion, his career is comparable to his contempararies who are in the Hall (Nolan Ryan and Don Sutton, for example).

I just...
saw that... sucks... but then.. it is the Hall of FAME, not the Hall of mediochre.

Not that Wally was mediochre, but I don't thnk his numbers stack up to guys in the hall, or on the ballot this year.

Even Yankee apologist Keith Oberman...
said that he wanted to see some votes for Wally Joyner out of respect for him.

2008
With no slam dunks next year, they can finally elect some of these deserving guys from the 80's

Gossage will go in for sure, and I hope Dawson too.  Blyleven needs to make the big push next year, but he is almost certainly a few years away.
