I think it's obvious what we need to do Sunday.
This series is over. We should just bean Ortiz in the head in retaliation for Vlad so the Sox have no chance against the Indians.

by atung on Oct 5, 2007 9:48 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

It's time to finally do something...
Doing nothing for the last four seasons is exactly why nobody is scared of pitching Vlad inside and why he's injured AGAIN from a beaning.  It's time.

Sometimes that's just the type of thing that allows you to beat a team.

It's time for Scioscia to make an adjustment to his retaliation strategy.

It's time for old-fashioned baseball.

I honestly
don't believe it was intentional.  But since there is no penalty for pitching Vlad tight, anyone can do it at anytime.  And that's what happened.

He should not have walked Ortiz, he should have put one in his ear.  That's 2X this year Boston has hit Vlad and knocked him out of the game and we haven't done jack shit.  That is pussy ass baseball.  You must make Boston pay for that.  Have some balls.

I'm sorry...
but you're an idiot.  He's the only guy with two hits tonight, the only guy on base three times, and he's playing his heart out with an affliction to the most important body part on a hitter (and putting pride on the line in the process).  He's not a gamer?  Where did you play?

There are plenty of people to bash tonight.  GA isn't one of them.

And before you get too worked up about the base running mistake, please remember that had he not gone, there would have been one out with him at second.  Alternatively, Izzy stole second, leaving one out and the faster runner at second.  It didn't matter one bit in the outcome of this game.

Yeah, bench and blame your veteran clean-up hitter.  That makes sense.

There are some absolute tools around here sometimes.

How about Scioscia...
for even putting Izturis in there, especially at #5? Look at the Rockies, Phillies, Red Sox, Yankees, Indians and Cubs offense. There is a 0% chance of Izturis batting 5th in either lineup. Heck, he might be lucky to even be in the lineup on those teams! All these teams also have many power threats, something the Angels lack. They could end the game with a HR, the Angels have to muster multiple hits together just for a freaking chance to score a run.

I can't believe that a slap singles hitter is our #5 hitter, especially in the postseason! Makes you wonder how a team with a $110 million payroll can't buy anything better than a slap singles hitter as the #5 hitter.

This is Torture
Sorry posted this originally in the wrong thread:

For some reason we just cannot beat these guys, or think that 3 runs will get the job done; niether is fucking true. Our bullpen is garbage regardless of the hype. Frankie is always gonna give up walks [throwing sliders] or hits and home runs with his mediocre fast ball. Shields got lucky he didnt get hurt. Spier did ok. Final rant, Soscia needs to throw one at Ortiz' head. This is the second time that boston has taken vlad out of a game, and about the fifth time that this has happened in my recent memory; he ducks out of a lot of them. I know that Crosby was a revenge poke, although it came nearly 7 weeks after kendrick and vlady were beaned. We need to go in and fucking throw right at ortiz, fuck what TBS thinks of intentions, that shit was intentional. Hopefully the sox pull their collective dick out of the TBS reporters mouths long enough for them to make it to anaheim; had to mute the game several times. Finally, where the fuck did MLB pick up the little league ump? Homeboy was clling strikes a foot off the plate and letter high.

Perspective
I am unbelievably upset with how tonight's game went. I'm in Guatemala, and the only place I could find that would play the game was a Red Sox bar. When Manny hit that home run, and the place erupted, I was devastated. Still am.

But it struck me as odd. It's the bitter losses that make victories taste so sweet. If we could storm throught the playoffs, how exciting would that really be? (ok, really fucking exciting... but still.)

I hope we go back home, show why we have the best home record in the league, and take two games right back from the Red Sox. Then, when Kelvim Escobar pitches us to victory in game 5 in Fenway, it will be so sweet to watch the god damn sox fans transform into the their old 'woe is me' selves.

Did I bang on GA? Read what I wrote
#4 hitter he is not, is what I said...stop defending him!  Once upon a time he was, not now!  Baseball is the ultimate game of "what have you done for me lately!"

If you haven't learned that, then you never played the game yourself!

Stop swinging at balls out of the zone!

Yes, you are right...
he is not the prototypical clean-up (aka #4) hitter, but what is your proposal for repairing that situation Sunday?  Can you let Mike Scioscia know?  I am sure he would be willing to listen.

Where did you play pro ball?

;P

Unfortunately you don't have to play
pro ball to learn that lesson...

The middle of our order will be (maybe as soon as next season) Kotchman, Kendrick, Vlad in no particular order...protection for GA would be nice.  The order we are running out there with Maicer 5 inspires NO FEAR.  Any one of Kotch, Morales, Kendrick, Napoli should bat 5th behind GArret as things stand.  Next year I would change that...not this year!

Personally my order would either bat Kendrick 3 or 5 behind Vlad 4.  Kendrick might be our best hitter right now...!  He is not getting enough AB's that far down in the order!

Unbelievable...
That's why teams bring in tough lefties to face him every time.  That's why Papelbon threw him ALL splitties desite having a 97 mph heater.

Blaming GA for tonight's game is downright retarded.

It makes me wonder what game a fool like you is possibly watching.

You don't have to like GA, you don't even have to respect him.  But when you blame him in a game like tonight you just look stupid.

Sorry, but it's true.
