Clemens named in Mitchell report

According to ESPN, Roger Clemens will be named today in the Mitchell report.  Having recieved steroids from his personal trainer during his first tenure with the Yankees.  This is the first big name to be leaked and could have hall of fame implications as many writers have said anybody mentioned in the report will not recieve their vote.

I am not surprised
Clemens in the mid-1980s was half the size of his current frame.  His career also was in the toilet the last couple years in Boston before he suddenly turned back time in Toronto.

no surprise...
I mean, really... the guy is like 40+ years old, and is still throwin' heat... something is up!

This made my day!
I suppose I shouldn't get so much pleasure from someone else's misfortunes, but I guess I just have a black, black, soul. :)

The only thing that will improve on this is if they name Big Papi and Damon.  (For some reason, I  can't work up my hate for Manny.)

It's because
Everyone knows he's a piece of shit. But golden boy Papi and Varitek are like gods to those clam chowder loving bostonians.

I want to see: Ortiz, Varitek, Mariano, Delgado and a few others on the list of juicers

Well. you got one.
Varitek is on the list, but not the others.

Too late now
It's out, and it's more than 3.

Troy Glaus
Jose Guillen (who gives a crap?)
Wally Joyner (!!!!)
Mo Vaughn (and here we thought it was cheeseburgers)
Scott Schoenweiss

[there may be more but I can't remember them, and my connection is flaky]

Don't Forget
In October 2003, Turnbow became the first major league player to test positive for a banned steroid.

Then you have those Angels like Dave Hollins, Randy Velarde, Todd Greene, Chuck Finley and a crap load of others that have had their name mentioned when the talk of steroids is mentioned in baseball

by Angel Aviator on Dec 13, 2007 11:41 AM PST up reply actions

I choose
To believe that Randy Velarde juiced in Oakland. And Wally Joyner did his juicing in KC.

Joyner
reportedly used while in San Diego.

He ADMITTED it.
It's fact.  He asked Ken Caminiti for some help and was given a phone number.  He called, got some pills, took a few and decided "it wasn't for (him)."  He tossed the bottle and retired a little while later.  It would be nice if some other players were this honest.  How does McGwire look at himself in the mirror?  Palmeiro?  Selig?
Captain, there are doubt's...

The shame of it all....
...this from a guy who's not supposed to be drinking Coca-Cola for crying out loud.

There's no shame in this
Maybe it was illegal for him to acquire them but he was okay by baseball's rules.  The fact that he's been honest with himself and with us is refreshing and should be celebrated.

What's the Coca-Cola reference?

Joyner is a Mormon
Mormons have very strict dietary restrictions, including not being allowed to have caffeine.

Thats Fine
Not sure it really matters when or where it took place.

I think it should be noted that there will be a lot of players that escape this investigation. Just because their names did not appear on the list does not mean they never did roids. Just means they were better at doing it. This report is just one slice of the big pie known as steroids.

ESPN
How many times are you going to show the Rocket striking-out Casey and Mathis today?  Dudes been pitching for how long and those are the only clips you have?  That is a nasty split he throws Kotch, but Im sure there are others to choose from.  Maybe one where he strikes out Pedroia or Varitek?  A-holes.

If Clemens pitches again
will the fans show up with gigantic * signs like they did for Bonds?  Will somebody stamp * on the Cy Young Awards Clemens' won in 1998, 2000 and 2004?

by Fan Since 1981 on Dec 13, 2007 8:17 PM PST reply actions

Hypocracy!
If Clemens gets into the HOF and Bonds doesn't, then we will know it is a popularity contest, or at the very least, a farce.  Although, as far as I can tell, they are both SOB's!

HOF
They'll both go.  Probably first ballot.
