Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Colon Out Until May at Earliest

This isn't very surprising news but it does descibe how Scios has him on the typical rehab timetable and gives hope that he will not be rushed back in any way for another 1-5, 5+ ERA "season."  I would much rather have His Lardness take his time and return as close to 100% as possible than rush and complicate things any further.  After all, we still easily have a top 5 rotation without his eventual return and should appreciate such a luxury.

As weird as it might sound I am kind of used to him not being in the rotation, which might make an effective return that much sweeter.  Let's hope.

Sosh is dreaming
If he thinks Colon will pitch any number of games this year. You cannot physiologically re-hab a torn rotator cuff. Surgery is required in 95% of the cases where there is going to be acute stress placed on the supraspinatus tendon.(Like MLB pitchers - duhhhh) I cannot figure out who is advising FB in this regard.

Bartolo Fats will return to the Big A mound before school is out.  Once upon a time (when Spiro Agnew was exiting as VP) I was the skinny guy who weighed everyone in an Air Force squadron's Fat Boy program.  I was especially tough on the officers and none of them could pitch.  Now I weigh 250 pounds and should be careful who I call fat!

Pedro
will have done it twice when he comes back this year.

Are you for real?  Lots of pitchers do it.  Glaus did it.

No offense? Howie, Kotch and Napoli will change your mind.
