Aaahh, the beautiful game...
Dear Landon Donavon... remember the World Cup?
How old is Blanco?
Hey Mexico, show some class and exchange handshakes and jersey's.
don't make me get all Tower of Power, donny
mexico was totally classless (again) when they refused to shake hands or exchange jerseys. worse than that, though, was that punk goalie who tried to spear that usa player after goal #2. what a bunch of fuckin' babies.
Soccer is about as relevant
Where do people follow Soccer? Euronet.com?
But that's what's so funny...
The ironing is delicious.
excellent
you're right. mexico fans are going to take this loss very very hard. but they really shouldn't -- mexico played well. but the bottom line is scoreboard, and mexico hasn't found a way to score in the U.S. for quite a while now.
Viva Mexico
Why start now?
When has the Mexican national team ever shown class? They've always been a bunch of bitches.
Cricket: The Other White Meat?
And then why isn't Eddie Bane scouting this chap? Or Stoneman talking with this bloke's agent?
seems real..um.. exciting
i never understood cricket.
That's right... sweep"
-I called it.
Another example
Whatever
You could just be cool...
As shown by the bullshit goalie Sanchez whom tried to spear one of our forwards after the 2nd goal was scored.
When was the last time Mexico scored a goal on the US on our soil?
Lastly, you don't have to like the sport but at least respect the athletes and whom they represent.
I do nto think
So you're a bandwagon USA fan?
These world class athletes represent and bleed red, white, and blue. Whether you like it or not, they also represent you and me. When any American athlete competes in international competition the stakes are at their highest.
Watch one second of a World Cup Final, Qualifier, or International Friendly and you'll know the difference.
Well
Sure I hope they do well, but I will not follow them. Hell I hope our curling team fares well in the next winter olypics but I will not follow them either.
The point is I do not care about soccer regardless of who is playing.
I have seen the World Cup, International "Friendlies" and qualifiers. The end result was me sleeping.
Furthermore this is like writing about the profound impact of a Royals/Devil Rays game both teams suck.
Interesting
Unbelievable.
That is a good one.
You're lying
You know how I know you're lying? You've now written seven posts telling us how much you don't care about something. If you truly didn't care, you wouldn't have so much noise about not caring.
You know what most people do when they see a thread about something they don't care about? They click on another thread and ignore the one they don't care about. They don't write out seven posts telling everyone how little they care about that particular thread.
I thought it was a good game
I can't nessecarily say I'm a fan of soccer cause I don't follow it too closely but I know this - I'd watch soccer or MLS before I could ever watch a stupid NASCAR race...
Fvck the Trojans
Go Bruins!
America
the same america
Not justifying
For
Baseball is like chess.
Soccer is like ballet.
neck'car is like the cast of dukes of hazzard after a free keg.

Because
So far
Quick question Rev - I can only see polls when I am logged out - when I log in I can't view them. Is that the way its suppossed to be or can I change it somehow?
I'd rather be a Hillbilly Bumpkin
What we have here...
My guess is all soccer fans aren't racist hooligans, all NASCAR fans aren't country bumpkins, all Raiders fans aren't killers, all basketball fans don't want to be rappers, and so on and so on...they just make for good jokes.
Sorry if I offended any fans of the left hand turn...
Responding to a stereotype
For the record I watch neither Nascar nor Soccer.
every red neck I 've talked to...
Interestingly, every punk rock fan I know that admits to watching at least one American sport always seems to choose baseball; despite the cliché that punkers and organized sports are seen as polar opposites. Any theories on this? Rev, I'm looking at you...

If
Frankly, if you can't digest what was said, then I am inclined to think you either don't understand baseball or music... I'll go with both.

My mistake you did not say that
If this game were in Mexico
Oh I'm sorry, that's Dodger Stadium
For all
I'm sorry that it's the most important sport in your country and you suck, but that's not our fault. It is ironic though!
