2002 World Series DVD

There have been threads in the past about folks looking for the 2002 WS DVD etc. Those of you still looking for it look no further than good 'ol Costco. Costco is selling a repackaged version of the 2002 WS DVD for $12. I've personally seen it at the Tustin and Irvine locations. When I say repackaged, I mean it looks different and could very well be a different film altogether. I didn't buy one yet so I don't know. For the record, this can be bought at Amazon as well: 2002 Anaheim Angels If anybody has picked this one up, can you confirm whether it's different than the previous DVD?

Ebay Store
Don't know the name of the store, but one ebay seller has it mint, brand new for $8.99.  It is not complete games, but merely the highlights.  Yetijuice provided a great link to a site in Europe selling PAL DVD's (work on computer DVD drives) of the complete games.  Going to be about $65 for all 7 complete games.  Saving my pennies....

To answer your question, yes, the new DVD is different than the two previous releases (MLB's 2002 World Series DVD and the "Red Dawn Rising Story of the 2002 Anaheim Angels").

Cool thanks
I guess I'm going to Costco as soon as the game is over.

DVD at Costco
For what it's worth, I bought the DVD at Costco in Irvine last weekend.  It's definitely the one that you have linked above.  I was a little disappointed that it seems to be exactly the same as the MLB 2002 WS DVD... even down to the Tom Petty song at the end.  I ended up giving it to a neighbor who didn't have the original.

So which is it?
Is it different or the same? You guyz confuze me.

I don't have the new one, but...
I heard that it is different.  This is the first report that it is the same.

if it has that gay Tom Petty song at the end, then it is the same.

Anyway, I'm saving my Cash for the COMPLETE GAMES 1 - 7 and also the 9RBI Vladdy game from the fellas in Europe.

I think that whoever it was
was looking for the entire games on DVD not just the highlights

You refer to the previous thread
Yes, they were looking for COMPLETE GAMES, and that link yetijuice provided to Europe looks to be a good one.  I just have to save my euros before making the purchase.

Wow what a trip
What is a European company doing selling DVDs of American sports like MLB/NFL etc? Is this a pirate operation or something?

I just wonder about the commercials
do you get the nudie euro commercials or is it Des Moines' channel 11 with Billy Bob's car dealership's local commercials?  I like my LA broadcasts, thank you very much, of Games 6 and 7.  Local.  I even have the parade stuff taped (gotta xfer over to DVD someday).

I swear I remember that...
mlb.com in association with A&E were selling DVD-R's of complete games for like 15 a pop. Anybody else remember this?

Yes
Don't know if they had it for 2002, but definitely 2004-2006 has it....

Oh yeah
Sosh has an awesome tap-dancing part.

Let's just hope...
...there's no nude scene.

See, it is different then...
I have the original MLB release and there is not tap-dancing going on......

I don't think I will run out to get it, though.

Actually
Lackey does the nude scene, but it was tastefully done, not gratuitous, advanced the story, and was artistic.

by Higz on Apr 12, 2007 5:42 PM PDT up reply actions

did it involve rock climbing?

"Calling All The Angels"
I would like a DVD copy of that video and song (the song is not that good, but it goes well with the video) they show on the big screens at the stadium with all the history of the franchise, all our biggest moments...that still gives me goose bumps, even though I have seen it 500 times.

I was trying not to offend the Petty fans that...
may be lurking on this site.

C'mon, you know you dig that tune...

You must be a closet Train fan?

With all your bitter posts, are you just grumpy or what the hell is your deal?  Are you possibly an A's fan?  Jeez.  Everything I write, you are bitter about.  Maybe I'll stop posting.
