FLASHBACK VIDEO: Angels vs. Yankees 1988

Another oldie highlight clip from the 80's.  It's August 16, 1988 in Yankee Stadium.  Please be seated when you see how many runs the Angels score.  Even more unusual, given that 1988 was a decent year for pitching, as the AL ERA was only 3.97.  Let's hope Hatcher is watching these vids.  Maybe it will give him some ideas.

Fire Mickey Hatcher. An entire generation of Angels offense depends upon it.

awesome.
Was that music actually there during the original broadcast?
The last world series champion in California has "Anaheim" written next to their name.

Yes - the music was part of the original broadcast
Which even further adds to the 1980's feel.  It was a very cool sports show, where they played instrumental tracks from hit songs while reviewing highlights.

Awesome
Keep those highlights coming. I always loved/hated how Bob Boone ran.

Booney's strut
That was hilarious seeing that.  He walked/ran kind of like Kevin McHale with their chest all sticking out.

Cool flashback

That was probably the last game where the Angels starter gave up 5 homeruns and they still won handily.

I can't remember the last boxscore I read that showed columns for putouts and assists.

Another thing, did you notice that no less than 5 of the position players the Yankees had in their lineup were to become Angels down the road (Claudell Washington the next season if I recall): Washington, Winfield, Henderson, Velarde, and Slaught plus Candelaria in the dugout.

  Cool stuff indeed.
