the "kids" at the M's blog site think im crazy

Star-divide

these kids at the M's blog think im crazy talking about trading fatolo, figgins and cash for arod!

its looking better everyday.  they have 2 pitchers on the dl and love proven pitchers, fatolo. they need speed on the basepaths, figgins.  and who wouldnt want some cash?

we need a 3rd baseman and someone that can hit the cover off the ball to back up vlad.

i also heard something about andruw jones.  some one fill me in!

Wow
I had no idea the abuses Halos Heaven suffered here at SB Nation?  Then again, this is about the first time I've left the room...

At least the thread deteriorates nicely into a fun if not ill-informed 4/20 discussion, I guess.

Question though, Rev.  Why is the Lookout Landing graphic hosted on the Athletics Nation site?

haha
i love it.  their fans have more to say about you then they're team!

now i would say that they are the real "chumps"

i mean lets take a look at seatle for a minute.  what is there to do.... sit inside all day and get pregnant?  there is no need to go to any sporting activities. the football team can make it to the dance but not win. the baseball team can win a hundred plus, do nothing in the playoffs and not bounce back. the basketball team is good at setting up tee times.

They haven't even fired the Philip Hughes
bullet yet. They aren't desperate to do anything. Why would they trade (right now) the one guy who is single handedly compensating for their dearth of experienced starter?

Oh and there's that No Trade clause too.

id laugh at you too
that trade is an insult. A-rod looks MVP bound and you think theyd take our injured 6th starter and injured utility player coming off his worst year?

think more like nick adenhart and santana/weaver and kendry morales to even get the topic started. id rather wait til he opts out

yup
that trade is laughable man they wont ever do that and to be honest i dont want ARod either (especially since realistically it would cost us Weaver/Adenhart/aybar or mathis or napoli

Hamburger and Hot Dog for ... Filet Mignon?
you need TWO frontline starters now along with Figgy -- you cannot send two damaged pieces of shit to the Bronx for a stellar/HOF-bound bat.

The price just went up, especially given the proven offensive woes of our beloved Halos.  Further jacking up the price is A-Rod's now hallowed performances in pinstripes this year.  He has created 2 or 3 end-of-the-year highlights already.

My Yankee "friends" are now dead silent about A-rod, when they used to ask me every day when we were going to take him off their hands.

Funny how a few wins and solid performance will shut up the whiners (hey, sounds like us here on this site? -- hopefully our bats wake up and shut us all up from whining).

'86 never happened!

In addition to ARod's not coming to Anaheim,
I'm beginning to think he may just stay there in NY.

Cashman has said that he's not going to negotiate an increase over the last three years of his current contract.  ARod has stated that he wants to stay in NY.

Great!

If the Yankees are content with ARod's play by the end of this season, why wouldn't they then negotiate leaving the current contract in place, plus an extention of perhaps 3 years @$30MM/yr beginning in 2011?  Then, wouldn't everyone (Yankees, ARod, Boras, NY fans) except Tom Hicks be happy?  ARod would envision himself as being the greatest Yankee as well as the highest-paid MLB player of all time.

Now that that's settled, we don't have to worry ourselves with ARod anymore...........unless, of course, his hot streak doesn't last, and the NY fans don't LOVE him anymore.
