Juan Rivera Update
Sick of Shea? Anybody else ready for Juan Rivera?
According to the OC Register:
Juan Rivera has been running on a treadmill and has suffered no setbacks in his recovery from a broken leg but remains out until June, Scioscia said.
And according to the IE paper:
Juan Rivera remains in Arizona rehabbing a broken left leg. While there is no timetable for his return, he has started running in a harness on a treadmill. The harness takes some of the weight off the leg.
"He's doing very well with it but he's still a little ways away from getting into baseball activity," Manager Mike Scioscia said. "He's cleared the hurdles and everything looks as good as it can right now, and he hasn't had any setbacks."
And finally from LA Daily news:
Juan Rivera continues to make progress from a broken leg, but he still remains on schedule to return sometime around the All-Star break. Rivera broke his left tibia Dec. 22 while playing winter ball in Venezuela.
Scioscia said Rivera has started running on a treadmill with the assistance of a harness that lifts him slightly as he runs to help reduce some of his body weight. He is doing his rehabilitation work in Arizona.

Yump!!!!!!!!!!!
keep Morales in the line up
I also don't think our problems are that dire. We are getting little offense out of the catcher position, GA is struggling, and the DH position is struggling. I think GA will start hitting, and Morales might be an answer at DH.
Morales

So if you hate Morales.......
1st Taste of the Bigs.....
Morales(2006)AVG=.234 2B=10 3B=1 HR=5 RBI=22 R=21
Kotchman(2004)AVG=.224 2B=6 3B=0 HR=0 RBI=15 R=7
As you can see Morales did way better than Kotchman in his first stint with the big club....and Kotchmans 2nd year stats kicked ass so i have no reason to think that Morales can top that.
Figgins
Murphy
I think Scioscia forgot about him, and Murphy is afraid to speak up and say "skip, get me in a game" because if they remember he's still here, they'll send him down and the gravy train comes to an end.

Checked roster
It's probably Kendry. Only other option would be Quinlan, who I think would have to clear waivers and somebody would certainly take him, or dare to dream they cut bait on Hillenbrand.
Murph went down when Escy came back...
Brandon Wood struck out twice in 4AB's...sound bad? Well, his one hit was a 2B that cleared the bases, giving him 3RBI for the night. Not a bad trade, 2K's for 3RBI.

Murphy went down after Monday's game...
If it was Halos Heaven running the team, Hillenbrand would be cut and Kendry would be the full-time DH.
I would also want Gorneault up here. I think he is really struggling in AAA after he flat out won the outfield spot in Spring Training...and then got sent down. Send back Willits and watch Gorneault be a better replacement. He needs a chance. Let GA watch him for a few days.

Rivera
There will be no first half for him therein lies the question.
Those stats on Juan are skewed
Even if you're right, though, and he doesn't reach his peak of productivity for the season... that .505 SLG would do wonders for this lineup right about now.
I'd bet on slow start
Worst case: 2-3 years to fully recover, like Jermaine Dye.
