L.A. Angels of Anaheim GAME 25/162 THREAD

SUNDAY GAME THREAD - Angels @ Bleached Laundry of Cicero - 11 a.m.
Kelvim ESCOBAR vs. Mark BUEHRLE
TV: KCOP 13 Free TeeVee - RADIO: 710 A.M. (ingles) - 830 A.M. (spanish)

Star-divide

Kelvim returns to the scene of the crime. No Eddings, No Josh Paul, perhaps no A.J. in a day-game after a night-game.

Ye Olde O.P.D. picks...
Cabrera - Escobar - 3

I'm actually getting enraged about the whole '05 ALCS Game 2 debacle all over again after writing that half-sentence alluding to it...

I like seeing Wood in the lineup while he's up, even though it looks like he's not ready just like Kendrick looked the 1st time last year, but then have Hillenbrand at first?  Weird.

based on what you (screduck) have written over the years, that you have been unusually deferential to Robb Quinlan's below-averageness (relative to your scathing criticality of just about every nuance of any other player's game)... but I may have selective memory in this...

Just curious
What's your proposed lineup?  Seriously.  I actually don't think this one's particularly awful; at least he finally took Anderson out of the lineup against a tough lefty, and Kotchman's having a tough time against lefties this year (hitting .071 against so far in limited action), so that decision's defensible, too.

Light up the Halo!
With an extra-special callout to Cubs fan Helen, who (a) won't get to see her Cubbies play tonight because one of the Cards' pitchers was killed in a solo crash last night, and so the game will be postponed, and (b) just plain likes seeing the White Sox whomped. (Me, too.)
Fire Mickey Hatcher. An entire generation of Angels offense depends upon it.

yeah, I posted that earlier
did you see the pic of the Explorer?? I read the tow truck driver saw him coming, flashed his lights (he had the full emergency bar on) and honked his horn. He says the guy never even slowed down or moved.

Waaark.
Almost a full pointed day. Still, one person didn't score today. Alas.

Chart it up! Game on!

my Sunday OPD
Hey Scottnak,

I posted my OPD on Saturday night for Sunday in a diary, because I wasn't going to be able to get to a computer in time for the game. Here is a copy of my post. I hope you add my score in.

[Edit Diary]
I'm working early tomorrow and i'm not sure if I'll be able to get to a computer in time for tomorrow's game, so I want to put my OPD picks in now. I hope this is OK with the powers that be, but I would prefer not to miss a game if at all possible.

O: GMJ
P: Escobar
D: 2

You down with OPD, Yeah you know me!

Here is a list of the players we'll be inviting to spring training. This guy here is dead! Then take him off the list!

3-for-1
Roger Repoz and Yetijuice had combined picks for the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Angels @ Chisox games.  We were correctly credited with zero points for Friday's game.  We got one point each for the Saturday and the Sunday games.  The wrap-up summary charts for those games do not have us listed.  Here is the original post of our picks:

"By the Time I Get to Phoenix

"Roger and I are off to Phoenix in half an hour to catch this weekends Giants @ Diamondbacks series.  Roger's 7th birthday is Saturday.  Since both the Angels and Dodgers are out of town we decided to take a trip ourselves.

"Here are our OPD picks for the Angels @ Chisox series.  Our picks are the same for all three games (Fri, Sat, Sun):

"GMJ/Starter/1

"Those picks are for Yetijuice and Roger Repoz.  Let's see if we can game the system and get an average of at least one point per game.

No we did not average a point a game.  We each went 0, 1, 1 for the weekend.

Want to avoid the Dodger Stadium parking lot?  It only costs $5 to park on Jefferson Street west of Chase Field in Phoenix.  After the Sunday completion of a Snake sweep of the Giants it took us six hours to drive back to Orange.  We were home at 2315.  We will go to games in Phoenix again.  This may turn into an annual event.  In the future we will not wait until both the Angels and Dodgers are out of town.  All that will be required is for the Halos to be on the road.
