"Pitch Selection" by GA

I was reading several of the Angels news outlets this morning about Brandon Wood being sent back to AAA and found out he got advice from GA on pitch selection. Uh...Garret Anderson? Pitch selection? Let's hope that he isn't getting advice from Shea Hillenbrand on how to drive the ball. Or advice from Vlad on how to run the bases. Why in the world is GA giving advice to Brandon on pitch selection?

well, in principle

Look at it this way, though. I'm guessing GA's problems stem directly from two related issues:

1.) He's old.
2.) He can't see anymore.

Frankly, you're not gonna hit anything you can't see. GA was a great hitter for years, so he obviously knew a little about pitch selection, but I'm guessing his eyes aren't doing him any favors anymore. His advice is probably solid, but even he can't act on it anymore.

Puhhleazzzzz....

Is there anyone on that team who knows a damn thing about pitch selection? I have often wondered why opponents throw them strikes? Just throw it close and they will swing. I will give OCab some credit...at least he generally watches the ball all the way into the catcher's mitt.
