Return of the King
Kelvim Escobar goes up against Felix Hernandez tonight.
Unlike the A's, may they lose every game they play in from now until forever, I have no ill will against the Mariners. I hope Felix returns, shows no signs of any injury, and goes on to pitch the Mariners to a second place finish.
For tonight, I'm OK with him dominating our lineup, pitching a 3 hitter, and allowing only one run after Reggie Willits walks in the 7th inning, steals 2 bases, and scores as Orlando Cabrera's single just scoots past a drawn in infield.
Just as long as Escobar throws a shutout.

Ruin his arm?
Hype
In fact all of the hype makes me grit my teeth every time I hear it, as if baseball is so goddamn important nothing else matters.
It's a game, played mostly by millionaires working for billionaires, and we as fans get dumped on regularly by MLB---remember when they went to court to block the use of baseball statistics in fantasy leagues without royalties? Thank god MLB lost that lawsuit! The judge thought it pretty ridiculous that MLB claimed ownership of stats when box scores have been published in newspapers--public info--forever.
I'm just glad we've got a pretty good owner who treats the fans like numero uno.
