Moved Over From the Diaries...
Why, it's your Los Angeles Angels of Steinbrenner's Nightmares.
98-64 Angels
97-65 Twins
94-68 A's
90-72 Red Sox
90-72 Skanks
89-73 Tigers
86-76 Indians
84-78 White Sox
82-80 Blue Jays
81-81 Mariners*
What's more, we've been totally consistent when comparing this year's first 51 games (.608 winning percentage) to last year's final 111 (.604). In other words, we've been playing consistent .600 baseball for a year now. No other AL team can come close (the Tigers are .592 this year, .531 last); and the only other team in the bigs with a better last 162 games is the Mets, with 99 wins to our 98.
So basically, ever since Mike Napoli became the #1 catcher, and (give or take a few starts) Jered Weaver made the rotation, we've been a .600 team. With a bunch of young guys learning how to be big-leaguers.
* effed that up in the original.
