"After Wednesday's game, the Angels put Maicer Izturis on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

Brandon Wood, was recalled and is expected to be available for Thursday's series finale at Kansas City."

I found this on their site, so visit them, as well it's a great blog. Too bad for Izzy, but who knows maybe Brandon can shine in a limited role.

Good Wood on the ball...

It was a bummer to see Wood get his first hit, then, subsequently, get a plane ticket back to Salt Lake.

It is nice to see he might have another ticket up to the big show.

Especially with young players...

They're going to struggle initially. The only 'prospects' who seem to do well right off the bat are older ones. Hopefully Wood can get enough AB's to make the necessary adjustments.

Although, he never really "proved" himself in the big show, I thought I saw a lot of improvement in him after getting a few AB's under his belt. Any curve ball would make his bat turn to rubber at first. Then, he started adjusting to the breaking stuff. He made some adjustments. So, I agree with what you are saying.

Hopefully, BWood can make the adjustment in time to help our paltry offense.
