Rev is right about Dodger Fan...

Dodger Fan is a proud, yet ignorant fan... and they deserve to be so without criticism.  Who are we (43W-26L) to cry like little girls about Dodger fans thuggishness?  In their own house for christ's sake.  Let's give them the respect they deserve.

Dodger fan can confidently huck that mustard gooed pretzel at your grandmas wig... afterall, we won our title wwwaaayyy back in 2002.  The Blue made the playoffs last year, and their last title was... uhhh what?  Errr, their last title was in 1988.  Did they even broadcast the '88 World Series in Mexico?  Seriously, how could you expect them to know.

Dodger fan has every right to chuck a couple soft-serves at my wife's dome, or to yell obcenities at my young (and terribly innocent) daughter.  Hell... Dodger Fan has every right, as American citizens, to the freedom of speech our great country affords.  Wait... Dodger fan is not a legal American citizen?  I digress.

They have Jeff Cunt... errr, Clark Kent, errr, Jeff Kent.  We have Vlad Guerrero... big fuckin' whoop.  Jeff Kent is a class guy... and that Vladdy... well, he doesn't even speak English.  Wait... neither does Dodger Fan?  I digress.

However, this is what really puzzles me...

Man, I try.  Can I not sit in the bleachers, wearing my Angel blanket / poncho that I proudly bought in Tijuana, without getting some love from Dodger fan?  Wait... Dodger fan's blanket / poncho (I call it a bloncho) was made in China?  I digress, I guess.

We sit there, getting doused in beer, getting clocked by half-eaten Dodger Dogs, while being called (in my case) "Cracker-ass motherfucker."  I can't help but think how proud Jackie Robinson would be at how far we've come in race relations.  Don't put first-class, ironic humor past Dodger Fan... they are clever little bastards.

Sitting in the nosebleeds with your girl, and Dodger fan yells, "I'm going to fuck your girlfriend."  It's only because they love the game of baseball and it's their way of showing it.  Just yell back, "Yeah, she gives good Orel [Hershiser]" -OR- "Not with that 2 inch Pee Pee [Reese] you won't"... they won't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Folks, Angel Red is sooooo 2002... You gotta' give it to the Dodger Booooo.

UPDATE:

Am I the Michael Richards of Halos Heaven?

I don't think so.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE that in CONTEXT, my comments were racist or driven by racism. I think a more critical reader would see the irony in my post and the intention of the racial references.

Regardless, to show you what a real man I am... I want to apologize to anybody here that felt my remarks were racially insensitive. Other than the classless Dodger Fan (of any race), I did not intend to hurt anyone with my post.

This Fan-Post is authored by an independent fan. Tell us what you think and how you feel.

Hmm.
While I wouldn't disagree with the general punkishness of Dodger fans, I would lay off some of the racial stuff a bit. It's not like there aren't white Dodger fans, or Hispanics are few and far between at Angels games.

the racial component
So many middle class white Dodger fans perpetuate the "You in my Homie Neck of da woods" vibe. It is downright silly. These are kids in their 20s who live with mom and dad and are not allowed to date nongringas...

I'm going to call it like I see it...
...for one.  I have a pretty mainstream sensitivity to the "racial stuff" as you put it.

This entry is meant as buffoonery and satire.  Don't take it as anything else.  This is a sports blog, not a political one.

Obviously Southern Cali is a mixing pot.  I'm not knocking Hispanics... I'm knocking 'Dodger Fan.'

The difference is... Dodger Fan can come to Angel stadium and experience a game without fear of his/her life.

Oh, and Angel Fan does not boooo at EVERYTHING.

Just don't tell me, as a "cracker", that you've sat in the Dodger bleachers and weren't the minority -- let's be honest.  Or as an Angel fan, you weren't persecuted unmercilessly, REGARDLESS OF YOUR RACE.

I was in attendance today
There's was a bunch of drunken Angel/Dodger fans in attendance. I sat in Lodge-131, and must have seen half a dozen ejections in my immediate area. I've been to a lot of baseball games in a bunch of different places and I must say, Dodger fans are the dumbest. In general,  they're a bunch of drunk morons, who  don't care about the game. They want to do is yell "Angel Suck" and start fights and have no desire to actualyl watch the game. They are by far, the most ignorant, unintelligent group of fans this side of the Atlantic.

Was that
a fax that you tried to send in to Jim Rome or something? Exceptionally weak, and have to concur about the racial stuff.

Hey Red...
You politicized this blog with your posting--despite your intention to be sarcastic, and hence, funny.  But you weren't.

How can you tell whether a Dodger fan or any other Hispanic or foreign tongue speaking individual is not a legal citizen?  By looking at them?  It's clearly what you imply in paragraph number 3 of your post.  That's very judgmental of you.

There's an easy answer to not get heckled in the bleachers--don't sit there.

While you're probably correct in that you were the "racial minority" in the bleachers, to them you are the "economic elite" and privileged non-minority caucasian guy who's got everything right and nothing wrong.

Remember, as you post your impressions of the image they portrayed, you cast one yourself.

PS
My post was not to imply that the behavior of Dodger fans in their bleachers is in any way acceptable.  In fact, it's pretty reprehensible in my opinion.

Dodger fans aren't interested in race....
If they chant "cracker ass motherf***" it's not because they are mad that you're white...it's just an angle to inflict mental abuse your way because they're proud of their team since it represents where they live. If there was a fist fight they surely wouldn't go after the white guy with the Dodger gear (no matter how pompous he looked). It's just a pride thing and not a race thing. Shoot!...I've gotten into it with white Dodger fans all the time. Let's keep it simple...it's just good ole' fashion pride for one's team! And if it comes down to a fist fight it's just because some hold the pride of the team they root for a little deaper than others.
Final score: Angels 4 Giants 1 Angels 2002 World Series Champions!!!

by Halofanatic on Jun 17, 2007 12:01 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

you might not have meant it that way
But that is the most idiotic thing I have read.  To imply that the biggest fans get into fist fights because they care the most about their team is way off base.  More likely it's just an excuse for someone who's always an asshole to get into a fight but not because they are bigger fans.

by LosAngel on Jun 17, 2007 9:22 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, yeah, I know...
I'm a white, elite racist... and you're not.

God forbid I point out that, perhaps, a large portion of the thuggish Dodger crowd might be Hispanic.  Or that I poke fun at Dodger Fan not knowing his/her baseball or team/game history.  How dare I make these satirical comments.

Are there white thugs at Dodger games... you bet.  Are there super friendly Hispanic Angel fans... of course.

Those of you that have to go out of your way to prove that you're not a 'racist' by basically calling me one... lay off.  I'm sure you're just as offended when you hear the same references made a hundred times, in a satirical setting, on any number of tv and radio programs.

Dodger fans
are retarded across race and ethnic lines.  Let's get that straight, here.

by Caseys Kiss of Death on Jun 17, 2007 12:39 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Hey Caseys Kiss of Death...
Now, did you have to go there?  Calling a person "retarded" is hurtful and racist against the mentally challenged.  Personally, I have absolutey NO problem with retarded people, and I'm going to go on record here as such.

Your post was weak... was this a rejected Jim Rome email?

Let's be honest, there are Dodger fans that aren't retarded.  There might even be some in the bleachers.  Don't pretend like there aren't any retarded Angel fans attending Angel games... thugs or not.

Don't politicize this board by calling Dodger Fan, the very derragatory and hurtful word, "retarded".  Our very own, and beloved, Rex Hudler has a developmentally disabled child... and with today being Father's Day, your post is exceptionally offensive (and racist.)

by Red on Jun 17, 2007 12:53 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

The difference
is he was funny. You were not.

According to the american heritage dictionary, your 'satire' is; Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity. While they may be stupid, you failed to meet the criteria of irony, sarcasm, or anything resembling wit.

by ineptituderunsamok on Jun 17, 2007 6:04 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hmmm...
It's refreshing to know that you can use a dictionary.

That my "caustic wit" has offended you, is something that I can live with.  That my satire has not tickled your funny place, is your opinion to have.

Since everyone is doing it, and it seems to be the 'in' thing... I was going try and call you a racist for calling me unfunny, but most racists I know at least have a sense of humor.

by Red on Jun 17, 2007 7:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Please
don't limit your so called wit as the only thing I find offensive about your posts. Bashing an entire race because you're too insecure to attend a baseball game stills seems not so funny to me.

Further if you find that a lot of people are calling you a racist due to the things you have said; perhaps you're a racist.

Lamest poster of all-time.

defending racists
Hmmm, I guess if racism is funny then its okay.

The casualness of your prejudices should worry you.  The fact that you think you were trying to be funny, and yet caused this reaction should also cause you to worry.  The fact that you now are trying to position yourself as the victim of the PC police instead of facing the effect of your words, take responsibility for what you said, that should also worry you.

I don't think so.

Frankly Jason, I'm not worried about a thing because I know that I am not a racist.

I STRONGLY DISAGREE that in CONTEXT, my comments were racist or driven by racism.  I think a more critical reader would see the irony in my post and the intention of the racial references.

apology
Good job.  Now lets get back to the business of bashing Dodger fans.

by ValisJason on Jun 18, 2007 9:10 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think it's pretty weak
that you can't go into another team's stadium with your family, root for the other team, and not have to fear for your safety.  Pretty weak if you ask me.  The biggest pussies out there are the ones who start shit with some defenseless guy, but only if he has 50,000 of his buddies backing him up.
Unfortunately you have to take the brunt of these peoples frustrations that they are unable to work out in their own 'real life'.

by LosAngel on Jun 17, 2007 9:28 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

So wait...
All you did was walk in, get food, and sit in your seat and somebody called you a "Cracker-assed mother fucker"?  It did not happen that way.  People, not even dodger fans, don't just personally attack someone for nothing.  If you had your Angel garb you may have got "Angels Suck" or something more profanity laced, but the only reason someone would call you personally a name like that is if you said something back.  And at that point you have engaged the gentleman and should not be so sensitive.

by Ron Mexico on Jun 18, 2007 7:02 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

you underestimate
the power of idiots.  i don't doubt it could unfold that way.

That is complete horseshit.
The only provocation a racist thug of any race needs is to see that your skin is a different color.

by Higz on Jun 18, 2007 12:16 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bingo
obviously that dude has never experienced "racial tension"

I got called a "cracker mother fucker" three distinct times at 7:30AM on the way to the subway which I was taking to get to the airport to get to socal.

I did literally nothing but walk by them, be white, and have luggage in my hand.

by shiftyeyedgoat on Jun 18, 2007 5:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ah but...
...it's the shifty eyes that served as provocation me thinks.
