LA Angels of Anaheim GAME 62/162 GAME THREAD

FRIDAY AFTERNOON GAME THREAD - Angels @ Red Birds - 5:10 PM
COLON vs. WELLS

Star-divide

You may also post your O.P.D. Guesses in this thread.

At 2-10 with a 6.40 ERA, Wells looks juicy. Let's hope the Angels can still be hungry with Grimace on the mound.

Get down with my woman, that ain't right
You hollarin' and cussin', you wanna fight
Don't do me no darn favor

Just a day off?
From Rotowire, June 2nd:

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=4087

Reggie Willits will remain in left field and hit leadoff when Garret Anderson returns from the disabled list, according to manager Mike Scioscia.

"Reggie is as much a contributor to our offensive turnaround as anyone," Scioscia said, "and we're excited about what he's brought to the top of the lineup." Anderson will rotate through the two corner outfield spots and the DH spot.

Bartolo was the story of the game at Shea in '05
when I was there.

He started that night.

1st AB, he struck out easily.

2nd AB, he fell on his ass waving the bat at strike 3, miserably.

3rd AB, he then proceeded to get a lousy bleeder single and an RBI on the hit!

Talk about a freak game, Finley hit an HR, Erstad hit one, and we routed the Mets 12-2.

"Singles Night" at the game?????
did anybody see that promotion that phys and hud were talking about? "singles night"??

i guess they're talking to us, watching the game at home on a friday night hahaha.

I think it's also "Singles Night"
in A-Rod's hotel room this evening.

"Singles night"
usually describes the Angels' offense.

I don't think
that Vlad could have made it home anyway.  Actually, the ground rule probably helped us, Vlady may have been thrown out at 3rd yet again.

that is just his
style....he is not a jump up and down player..he looks casual, like he doesn't care but he DOES care!!!!!   can't judge a book by its cover, as they say...

by angelsrallymom on Jun 8, 2007 7:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah... I've never liked it...
and it seems that his attitude (body language at least) at the plate is becoming more exaggerated lately.

by Red on Jun 8, 2007 7:45 PM PDT up reply actions

I hated it too when...
he drove in three runs in game 7, 2002.  His body language was absolutely atrocious on that play.  We shoulda said he was out because of that horrible body language and instead of giving the Angels three runs on the play, we should have been charged with negative three.

He is not done yet.  The guy can still club the ball pretty damn well.

New Column!
New Column on the right, is the ratters. If yellow, the ratting was correct according to my info.  If INCORRECT, your name is in red and my data for the last two are on the immediate right of your picks.

SNRA2000 refers to my program I have ready to check on you guys. It's simply the rule regulator of the game.

by scottnak on Jun 8, 2007 9:48 PM PDT reply actions

Rules
My "rat" shouldn't be red.  Per the rules, you can't pick 1B as the "D" in OPD.  I flagged someone (UCIHalo) who did.

by jjackflash on Jun 8, 2007 10:22 PM PDT up reply actions

Ah right.
Although, technically calling out a 1B pick isn't worth anything as stated,

Rat Points: If you discover a poster has selected a disallowed pick based on his or her previous picks and you rat them out in a post in the OPD thread, you get a point...

Sorry.
