Blame of the Game: Ervin Santana

Hope you dig Mormon chicks, dude, because you're pitching Sunday in Salt Lake City...

Put a fork in Ervin
I hope this is truely the end of Ervin. Every team knows he is a head case and they are just teeing off on him. He needs to finish off the year in Triple A and make a fresh start next year. Its not happening and we can't afford to waste any more starts with the Mariners gaining confidence everyday. I pray to God Bartolo can turn it around or we may be forced to insert Mosely back into the rotation. Who would have ever thought both Ervin and Bartolo would be this bad.

I hope you mean the end of him for now...
Coz, he still has a lot of upside...you are just blinded with the fury of a loss.

Let's be positive and hope that he finds his groove in Salt Lake.

what I think
Is that this has all turned into a self fufilling prophecy everytime. The early hits in the game were all grounders and by no means hurting us too bad, but pretty soon it started to be like a boulder rolling down hill and can't be stopped. This is a mental thing and not a physical thing. This guy has tons of talent, but when things get dirty he can't recover. He is still young and has room to grow, I am not ready to write him off as others have been. Also maybe one day he will be a 7th inning bullpen guy/Long Reliever. Maybe he can handle pressure better in doses instead of from the first pitch

It was Orlandos fault.......
That ball that was hit to him and he didnt grab, should have been an inning ending double play but they ended up getting 2 runs after that. From that point on it was down hill for Santana because he felt he didnt have his #1 defensive player behind him.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we should be thanking OC
cause it showed that ervin can't recover

hell no
If you can't pitch to your defense because you can't trust them, then you shouldn't be in the bigs. EVERYBODY makes mistakes, and real pitchers know this and don't immediately fall apart when their defense makes a bad play. Weaver went 7 innings and gave up two runs, neither of which were earned. He didn't lose it.
East coast bias

Bingo.......
The defense has to be perfect or Santana will fall apart. So if the Angels want to win behind Santana they have to be perfect. They were not today and you all saw what happened to Santana.

Interesting theory. I thought it had more to do
with Santana sucking.

BTW, what I find interesting is that earlier in the year, I remember someone, I thought it was Mike Butcher, talking about how he wanted Santana to tighten up his slider.

Seems like the slider has been his problem because he tried to make an adjustment and screwed it up.

The Truth
I have recently found out that all baseball games, since 1999 have been fixed! This is an outrage! I say we boycott baseball!

Robbed on OPD
I thought 'Tolo was suppossed to start the game, and got robbed on my OPD. As much as I still love Erv, I would have OPD'd against the Angels for sure.

Yar.
Yes, I believe it is the truth that the games are fixed. All you baseball nerds should stop watching baseball, because there has been a study that shows 98% of those who watch baseball are sure to develope cancer.

santana
trade his ass for a bat. even though we are in first the mariners are stepping it up. With everyone seemingly in a slump we could really use some power to back up vlad and figgy to insure are road to October.
With everything going on with athletes. Here's a kid who is just about playing baseball. It reminds you that to some people it is still a game - SI on Vlad

Santana's ass
would bring Shea Hillenbrand in trade right now.
Two more starts until Ervin Santana goes to AAA. Please.

Baseball
Baseball was first invented as a gag gift and it was prolonged to cause pain. All you people are being warped into the dimension and locked into the brain warp. You must escape before it is too late!!!

Just got home.
I've got the game on TiVo, and I'm predicting a big night for Santana!

Can't wait to watch.

Why are you laughing?
I just got through the first two innings, the guy is nails tonight!

(Don't tell me how it ends, I'm watching it on TiVo)

My prediction though is a complete game shutout.

Bye Bye Santana
i admit that i was the first one to keep saying that keep running Ervin out there every 5 days, he has too much talent not to step it up and find his game....

I have officially changed my mind, he is shit and worhtless this year. His only value is to have him pitch and bet the other team (i cant even do this as I am too big of a Halo fan to bet against them).

Jose gets him the two runs back to tie the game and then Ervin fucking blows it and pitches a dissaster. I am sick of his shit and he needs to go to AAA and figure it out.....

On a side note, I by no means am giving up on Santana for the future, but the dude needs a shrink, slumpbuster and some live chickens to sacrifice before he should find the mound again. He has too much god given talent to blow it like this....

Here is to hoping that Colon can pitch well cause if he doesn't it looks like we call up Saunders, move Mosely to the rotation and call up or trade for a reliever (still think we could of used Percy)

It will be a sad day if Fatolo runs out there tomorrow and duplicated this outing

Go Halos and I will look forward to seeing the man with the so much VOODOO he made his own stuff disapear in spring training next year!

Go Halos!

Fatolo...eat Santana already and get it over with!
