1995 Redux Poll

12 years later history repeats itself and the formerly craptastic Seattle Mariners pull out 13 year old me's worst nightmare from the depths of my repressed memories...

A one game playoff vs. Fat Felix and the Fish Wranglers.

If Mike lines up the final home stand series against the Fish Wranglers with Escobar, Lackey, Weaver and Saunders then that would have the rotation ending out the Oakland in Oakland series with the 5 spot(Colon/Mosely/Butthurt/Adenhart).  MEANING: Escobar has the most rest followed by Lackey and so on.  SO... with all that to think about...

Ain't gonna worry about it.
The Halos will have this division "fish-wrapped" well before that series.

By that time, Seattle is going to have surrendered any hope of beating the Yankees for the WC, and will be left to worry about Oakland charging up their tailpipes.

Yup
Not directed at the parent, but ... I wouldn't even be thinking about 1995.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!

Rev dropped the 1995 esque bomb
Then it got me thinking... the loss last night was just a waste.  We really should not be losing to a team with such a bad road record.  That meltdown inning was a pathetic show from a guy who is fighting for a spot.

no comparison to '95
there wasn't the Panther in 1995 - that's the difference maker right there.

This poll is highly unscientific
I mean who's gonna vote for colon buster?! Ron Jeremy? LOL

Nobody is...
and that's the way it should be.  But who doesn't love the chance to read the word Colonbuster

It wasn't a critique. Just a facetious comment!

Looks like someone just did
ouch.

1995 doesn't work for us.  We were never winning the division by a bajillion game with a bajillion and one games to go.

ESCY
Follow that in the ALDS with Lackey in Game 1, Colonel Saunders Game 2 and WTY Game 3...
A big FU to the A's and Dodgers....

Not like this is going to happen
but Escobar is 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA against the Mariners this year (although after further review he only got bombed in the first start).

While Lackey is a sparkling 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA.

Does that make a difference or are Angel fans that much more confident in "MySpacescobar?"

Visiting Mariners fan.

That makes a difference I suppose.
But if you're making the decision today based on how the pitchers are doing right now then Escobar still gets the start.

Maybe in September if Lackey has stopped lacking then there would be a pretty good argument for him to start.
