Awesome Game
considering all of our injuries and what not we are finding a lot gems out there.  Kendry-Tits, Mathis-Tits, Mice-Tits, Dirty Boots-Tits.

I am just really digging these guys style.

Good series fellas.

I got lucky and my wish came true...
Weaver the Elder to implode; tomorrow
Weaver the Younger to explode (the remaining hopes of Starbucks fan).

Just as soon as
they can fit Nomar with a walker that will give him enough mobility to play third.
Hoping Ervin Santana turns it around in Salt Lake. Go, Ervin!

GA would have been panther
If he would have been less lazy and had 5 hits instead of 4, and gunned down 2 runners at third base instead of just one.

Lazy lazy GA.

Only 1 RBI too, when he should have had 10.

Instead, panther has to go to a Weaver.

(Nice job btw Jered, you can't help that you're a Weaver, way to go kid !!!)

On a side note for you fantasy managers:
Johan Santana is pitching like Ervin Santana right now.

Shit, and I was almost in 5th place. Thanks Johan.

this is my first year playing.
what happens if you're in second place?
since when did any loss=the end of the season as we know it?

by retrohalo on Aug 29, 2007 4:45 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Just depends on how your league is set up.
Sometimes you get a percentage of the pot or a set amount, or it could be winner takes all. Ask your commissioner.

5th place will pretty much guarantee you get nothing.

Pity Lookout Landing
Bombers are up 3-0 on the Sox right now, so the M's wild-card lead could be down to 0.0 GB at day's end.

GA Triple
Great outing by Weaver with some solid offensive performance from most everyone on the team. I love that Mathis is bringing up his BA.

What were they thinking with that attempted GA triple though? He wasn't even running very hard until he rounded second base and GA isn't what I call a very fast runner.

Nevertheless, beautiful sweep. Couldn't ask for better.

Where should I start.....
Hmmm, makes the first out at 3b...nice! Stupid GA! The score coulda/shoulda been far more than the final damage toll...Kowbell getting picked off 2b by Johjima...all the shots hit by the boys...great D by the M's... All in all a great day in Angels lore!

Good Job Halos!
Glad we extended our lead in the division. I was pretty worried in July because we didn't look like a playoff team, but it looks like we've turned that corner.

Pity the Mariners. I'd rather they get the wild card slot than the pretentious BoSox or the undeserving Yankees.

The race is not over yet folks ...
as Scioscia says, one game at a time. Don't even think about magic numbers yet. ...

However, yes, it would be nice if the Aquamen could get the WC over either the Yanks or the BoSox.

BREAKING NEWS JUST IN:
Coach Owen has just been hospitalized after an apparent suicide attempt.

Oh, wait.

Sorry, I misread it.

That was Owen Wilson.

Good News: We swept three games in Seattle.
Bad News: We may have worn out our welcome at Safeco Field.
Winner: Good news, we have a five game lead over Seattle.

Advice to M's fans: Don't bother killing yourselves over this, your team and management is not worth it. Oh, and spade and neuter your pets. Thanks for letting us crap in your sandbox the last three days, next time we will bring a plastic bag.

This has to be demoralizing for Seattle fans
.....especially as the press there allegedly played this series up big time, with the mayor designating the 27th as "Mariner Monday" etc.

The comeback yesterday might have been the nail in the coffin. Despite the fact that a 5 game lead is not insurmountable, I think that the emotional impact of sweeping the M's in their house has to be taken into consideration. I don't think they will recover in the AL West, and quite possibly could fall out of the Wild Card race as well. Maybe Detroit will be the team to beat them out.

Its a slow suicide...
They will all be suffering severe heart attacks a few years down the road after loading up on "rally fries." They assume the more fries you eat the bigger the rally... no rallies will be coming of course and they will think they just need to eat more fries.  Vicious cycle.

Oh and potato farmers are going to make a lot of money on this whole thing.  So try to make good with one if you can.

The last world series champion in California has "Anaheim" written next to their name.

I was suspicious of rally fries.
Apparently the fans compete with each other to earn attention and get picked.  Kinda like the old "lets make a deal"

Seemed to me that the motive was the fries and not the rally.  This article appears to confirm that.
