No, we are not number 1, I still think we're number 2 -- The Red Sox still absolutely obliterate us, but we can match any other team in the majors.

And Lackey got tossed like a salad in his most recent game against; the much maligned Santana had the best start against the Bosox of New England; whilst our offense looked sputtering and inconsistent at best.

There was nothing to be obtained from the last 4 game series; both teams looked nothing like their season average forms.

The text of the article refers to the fact that ..

while we have played well, it took "help" in the form of the Yankess claiming broomage on the Sox to get us to #1. I think if the Sox won even one of those games, we would be sitting at #2 still....

I was thinking. I nearly fell off of my chair when I saw that they actually put us at #1.

Then, true to form, they discount the Angels' credibility and basically state that the only way this could have happened was the Angels sweeping and Boston being swept.

My new signature suits this one well.

Wherever Red Sox Nation is, I just wish Bush would invade it.

Yeah, but

the Yankees are far better than us. I mean, not only do they beat us 67% of the time, but they also have a better record this season, and didn't spend half of the year under .500 like us.
