Santana to remain in rotation, start vs. Oakland

Following up on and confirming a story posted by scareduck, from the Riverside Press-Enterprise:

"Despite lasting just seven batters on Tuesday and frequently testing the Angels' patience, Ervin Santana will remain part of the rotation and make his next scheduled start, a team source said Friday.

It had been widely speculated that Dustin Moseley, who relieved Santana on Tuesday and allowed just two hits in 5 1/3 sparkling innings, would take Santana's spot in the rotation until Bartolo Colon returns from injury.

However, after working in the bullpen, Santana will take the mound Monday against Oakland. "

I'm fine with this

It seems like Erv's biggest issues are with his confidence, and getting dumped to mop-up duty isn't going to help.

If he isn't hurt and he just needs to get it straight, the Angels have a 6.5 game lead to cushion whatever comes from this start.

Hopefully it'll be good Ervin and he'll have something to build on.

If I were Dustin Moseley, however, I'd be a mite pissed at being passed over after the outing vs. Seattle.

A lot, when you've gone 28-16, with a 4.42 ERA and 240Ks in 337 2/3 IP before your 24th birthday.

I continue to hope that these are just some growing pains for Ervin, and that he'll get back on track at some point.

these might be "growing pains" but...

hopefully they will lead to" happy days" and "cheers" when he uses some "different strokes" to find out "what's happening" before he is "touched by an angel."
