Is it OK to root for the A's now?
Normally I detest the A's and everything they stand for, as I know many of you do as well. I checked tonight's score and saw they were up 5-0 in the second inning. My immediate reaction was disgust. But then, they are playing Seattle, and if they win this game it gets us a little closer to our rightful playoff spot. An added bonus is that a strong finish by the A's, lets say they get over .500, means that Billy Beane's draft pick will not be protected. I'd hate to see them spend money on a decent free agent (I know, if they do it will be the first time) and still pick 12 or 13 in next year's draft. I'd rather them be in a spot where they can't sign anybody because to do so would mean giving up their #16 or #17 pick.

Unless
I'd rather have to GO TO Seattle for a 1-game playoff or play 3 of 5 in Boston than to have to root for any of those 4 above mentioned clowns.

Easy
Fremont Fan
I have plenty of A's fan friends and their mouths are far filthier than "jackasses"
I just don't
fair enough
Have you ever READ
I could load up this entire page with repulsive comments including, but not limited to, explicit desires to kill our players.
Seriously. Defend some more worthy group of animals, if you must.

It's OK
Forget about Seattle
Seattle is choking like a dying dog. Root for them so Fremont drops into 4th

God no
One of my happiest memories is the Reds (who I could care less about) sweeping the hell out of the A's -- Canseco, McGwire, Weiss, Gallego, Eckersley, Stewart et al. -- in the 1990 WS.
No
If Cleveland ends up

Texas
It's simple.
Get over your pride and support the outcome that helps us most.
Sweeter justice would be...
BUT
Texas stays hot and rips ahead of both of them!
This leaves the A's out of last place, for those concerned about draft choices. But it is where Seattle ends up! What a flameout! One of the great collapses of all time!! Both teams get hosed.
I WANT THE A'S TO HAVE A HIGH DRAFT PICK
Last few times
The A's and their fans know they're out of it and are rooting for draft picks at this point. So I'd prefer they be disappointed in that as well. Don't want them getting a player like that, and I don't need to have them in last place to feel good. Having them out of the pennant race by August is good enough for me. I'm all for them getting hot and winning 81-83 games.
