Bud Black injures Milton Bradley

Okay, has anybody seen this absolutely bizarre sequence of events? Milton Bradley was jawing with the first base ump about something. He eventually loses it and flips out, then gets tossed by the ump. Bradley freaks and starts going after the ump as his first base coach tries to hold him back. He shoves his coach out of the way and Buddy Black runs out onto the field to try and restrain him.

Here's where it gets hilarious.

While attempting to restrain Bradley, he accidentally shoves him to the ground, injuring Bradley's knee. Bradley had to be helped off the field.

Torn ACL

The MRI revealed a torn ACL... Bradley is going to be out through the playoffs and possibly for the first part of next year.

In contrast to what Bradley said, this was completely his fault...he has a major anger management problem. No matter what the ump said, if he hadn't gone ape shit he would have been fine.

Interesting set of stories.

Rare good reporting by the SanDiego Union-Tribune. Usually they are ready to tar and feather minorities that tend to pose problems. That will make for a good little sports trial about a year from now.
