Playoffs in HD?

So, by deciding to give TBS the exclusive broadcast rights for the DS and half of the CS, MLB has said "FUCK YOU" to those of us wishing to watch all our playoff games in HD.

To my knowledge, the only carrier that has added TBS HD (only launched on Sept 1) is DirecTV. So, if you're like the vast majority of the country watching with cable, too bad.

Side note: After reviewing MLB's playoff schedule (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/ps_07.jsp) I realized that the "half of the CS" that is on TBS is the NLCS, which means as an Angels fan I will only be screwed out of the DS games. Still, why go with a cable network that has just barely launched their HD channel? Thanks, MLB.

has had HD for over a year. Mainly for Braves games broadcasts.

It depends upon your cable provider

whether you get TBS, or for that matter FSN, in HD. Charter doesn't have either, for example.

complaining that Halo play-off games won't be in HDTV.

back in the day, i would'a been thrilled to listen to Dick Enberg on 710 AM to an Angel play-off game.

and you could'a knocked me over with a feather if it was on the black-and-white tellyvison.

Back in the day

I had what they call box scores. which you would get before the taped delayed game sometimes.

but the best is when the local sportscaster would tell you to turn away from the screen if you didn't want to see the score to tonights televised tape delayed game, and then " the final score to todays game was ..."

Yep...

Every day began with the breakfast-time folding of the box score page, resulting in a quarter of a newspaper size reference page which went to the shitter, to work, everywhere. It was all we had.
