Angels Baseball GAME 139/162 THREAD

A's @ Angels - 12:35 PM
Jos Blanton vs. Joe SAUNDERS

Star-divide

Our Lefty facing their Hillbilly.

Post Your OPD GUESSES in this thread prior to the First Pitch.

I couldn't GIVE AWAY two tickets to this game.

Random Song Lyrics:
Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it wouldn't last.
Jojo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
For some California grass.

One day they will move to Fremont and calling them Joak or Choak will be the height of nostalgia, like doing the Charleston...

Go Angels! Now that our bats are heated up, lets hope the bullpen finds its stuff again. It gives me heart murmurs worrying about the 4th and 5th slots for starting pitching. Our relief pitching is nail-biting too.

Who would've thought in July that our pitching and not our offense would be the problem heading into October? Get the pitching going steady, and we can actually force ESPN to report on the Angels. And maybe, just maybe teach the pretentious BoSox what it really means to be an underdog.

that sidebar rotoworld story about Shields hurling a ball into the right field bleachers out of frustration is pretty hilarious.  Now if only he stopped allowing any more balls from going there.

Mathis has been awesome, BUT
he's got to stop taking off for the dugout before the ump even calls the 3rd strike.  The ump yesterday gave him a look after one of those take offs; no one likes to be shown up.  Very, very soon an ump WON'T call it a 3rd strike (even if it clearly is), just to have Mathis eat some humble pie and get back into the crouch.
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!

by Fan Since 1981 on Sep 5, 2007 9:48 AM PDT reply actions

I dunno. I think a lot of players do that to lead
the ump. Puts more pressure on the ump to make the "right" call.

Note the AL division titles on the ballot for Man Of The Year:

  • American League East
  • American League Central
  • American League Central
AL Central #2 is apparently where where Vlad is to be found! In case they correct it soon, here is a screen capture.
