I'm giving Figgins a big F U. Seattle isn't winning 90. I am not worried.

Bummer
Well, that is too bad, but it likely explains the Angels' reticence to re-sign him.

by Rev Halofan on Sep 7, 2007 12:04 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I hate to admit it folks ...
but during the years I worked for the Angels (98-2000)it was pretty much whispered around corners that Troy was juicing. Also, no surprise when they got rid of him when they could.

Pity though, he was probably jacked up in 2002 as well.

Oh no!!!
Sunny Delight is on MLB's banned list?  :)
Then again, maybe it should be.  Tropicana is the way to go.
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!

That Troy Glaus, with the Vince Vaughn body?
I'm calling shenanigans on that story.  Besides, his head wasn't Zeppelin-like.

by PieceOfAase on Sep 7, 2007 12:14 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Sigh. Funny thing though,
Glaus never had that "bloated" look of a Giambi or a Bonds, and his head didn't inflate like a balloon (i.e. Melonhead McGwire or Bonds).

I hope these are just false allegations.

Maybe not, but he does jog like Vlad...
I know, I know.  That's all from the artificial turf in Montreal...

Thanks to genetics.
Vlad's legs are of different lengths.

Big head = HGH, not steroids
The abnormal growth of the head and feet are signs of HGH, not anabolic steroids. I would say there's probably no athlete that it would absolutely shock me to find out has used steroids, regardless of body type. Remember, a lot of sprinters have been busted for the stuff too. Unlike with HGH, there isn't a real "body type" for steroid users.

Well said
I would believe it about anyone.  And Glaus was someone I actually suspected.

Game 2 of the ALDS in NY
the defense rests it's case.

verdict? a Halo hero - end of story.

by rbrianc on Sep 7, 2007 12:26 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

At least
The years referenced are 2003 and 2004.  This lends to the case that he may have been using them to fight off the injuries and or rehab them
I'm giving Figgins a big F U. Seattle isn't winning 90. I am not worried.

by hauldog on Sep 7, 2007 12:34 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeh, I knew it.
He had all the signs of a 90s-early 2000s juicer.

Good thing I got a Salmon jersey and not a Glaus one.

You really think?
I always thought of the guy as the epitome of the "country strong" athlete. No super-cut, bulging muscles, no veins popping out, etc. Just a big, tall dude.

Wait a sec...
A pro athlete takes HGH during rehab?
An MLB player takes prescribed HGH before it was a substance banned by MLB?

So...Ok...where's the story here?

by Stirrups on Sep 7, 2007 1:03 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

It's not HGH
its nandrolone (a steroid) and testosterone. Both prescribed at the time those substances were banned by MLB.

Don't know about you, but it sounds like deep shit to me. ...

Don't call me Desmond

by highlandhalo on Sep 7, 2007 1:07 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

#1 it wasn't HGH
#2 both substances shipped to him were on the banned list at the time.

Standing down.
I was reading an article brief and co-mingling the Ankiel info with the Glaus info...I now return you all to your regularly scheduled freak-out.

Troy Glaus in "trouble"
like Barry Bonds is in big trouble. Ha, that's how good lawyers make so much money. A typical sports scandal maybe, don't look for Glaus to be wearing an orange jump suit anytime soon.

ijdgaf
Figure out the meaning if you wish.

I don't care. Everyone did it. Might as well make it legal. Let them ruin their bodies.

So you would endorse snorting coke in the
on-deck-circle and keeping crystal meth bong next to the rosin back?
