Kotsay Traded to the Braves
The A's have continued to trade away all of their players when they agreed to send Mark Kotsay to the Braves for Right-handed reliever Joey Devine.
Sounds like the A's got a winner in return (sarcasm), here is what the article had to say about Devine:
"Two months after being selected as the Braves' first pick in the 2005 First-Year Player Draft, Devine gained the dubious distinction of being the first pitcher to surrender grand slams in each of his first two Major League appearances. His rocky start got worse when he surrendered the 18th-inning walk-off homer that ended the 2004 National League Division Series against the Astros."

Good trade for the A's
So who is the next to go?

This would imply that Beane
the A's would pay all but about $2 million of Kotsay's $7.35 million salary in 2008, provided Kotsay and his balky back pass inspection.
Also:
The Braves were reluctant to trade Devine, 24, who had 78 strikeouts with 19 walks in 57 innings last season in the minors, and was expected to compete for a spot in the opening day bullpen.
A first-round draft pick in 2005, Devine made significant progress since giving up grand slams in his first two big league appearances.
Oakland wouldn't pay such a big portion of Kotsay's salary unless the Braves gave them one of the prospects they wanted. (from the Atlanta Journal Constitution)
Yes, this was a pretty good one for the A's
