**MORE ANGELS VIDEO**

The archive has produced another grab bag of 1980's Angels' memorabilia. Chili Davis was one of my favorite players.  This video clip from 1985 is from before his time with the Angels, but he expresses himself nicely.

July 1988; Chili hits a monster home run off of Jack Morris.

And finally, the rarest video of them all.  The 2008 Angels should watch this one.  From August 1988; Red Sox, Fenway, Clemens.

Off topic... Johan Santana
http://www.marshallindependent.com/Sports/articles.asp?articleID=18585

Marshall Independent - 3 hours ago
During his speech at the luncheon, Gardenhire told the crowd that he's expecting a starting center fielder and starting pitcher in return for Santana. "I hope we get some finality to it as we go along. It is one of those things where we can't sign him, ...

Analysis:

Pay part of GMJ's salary for four years. Have Twins pick from Santana, Moseley, Saunders, Adenhart or even Weaver,

Renegotiate Santana's 5 year deal first.

Twins get what they're asking for, and Angels match 1 - 2 -3 of any team, giving Halo's a decent World Series chance.

Heck
I wonder if they'd want Willits over GMJ. Certainly it would be easier if we didn't have to get around GMJ's no trade clause. And we could probably make it Escobar in the trade and still come away better than we were before. Throw in a prospect or two and we're in business.

Not only was
Chili's blast in the deepest part of that park (note the 440' sign, but seeing Boone and George (I am the one that started the no showing of sock trend) Hendrick go yeard brought back some fond memories.

Not sure if the good man from B&B ("Remember B&B says 'Go Angels!'") was ever a beanpoloe though.

It is way overdue Arte. #5 needs to be retired by the Angels.

Cool finds
With all that rainwater in the outfield at the Sox game, it's a good thing the Rocket had all that Zest in his locker to share!

That was awesome -
Loved the guy announcer in the Bawston clip saying "AGAINst" - What, was he a Jericholic?

That and Harvey inducing a grounder to "Ducky" Schofield ... Umm, hello - Ducky was Dick's DAD.

Btw, speaking of nicknames, my buddy and i called Harvey "The Welder" because his hat was so creased (or Cootered) that when he put it on, it looked like a welder's mask that was flipped up

"And the Anaheim Angels are the Champions of Baseball!"

Schofield
My memory was that it was pretty common to call Dick Schofield duck or duckie back then. I know I still call him that.
