The deal, according to USA Today, would send Santana to the Mets for outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey and Delois Guerra.
A trade agreement is in place, the newspaper said, but the Mets must reach agreement with Santana on a lucrative contract extension to complete the deal.
Santana, 28, is expected to require a deal of at least six years and $20 million per season as the price for waiving his no-trade clause.
