Just curious to know peoples thoughts on the subject of Nomar Garciaparra becoming an Angel. I just read that the Dodgers prospect Andy Laroche is about as close to being ready to take over 3rd base for them... which in turn would mean Nomar is out of a job, right??? If that were to happen, what would the Dodgers do with him? They have James Loney already at 1st, Jeff Kent at 2nd, Rafael Furcal at SS, and then Andy LaRoche at 3rd. Is it possible they would try to put him in the OF? Would he be okay with sitting the bench and playing every 5th day, either at 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? Would he request a trade? I can't believe they would outright release him.
Not a bad option for us at 3rd though. He can still hit, and he'll likely be a cheaper option than anyone else at this point. Figgins goes back to SS, and Nomar at 3rd. Izzy and Aybar can be the backups again. Nomar will get injured, it's inevitable. But it would be nice to have him against the Sox in the playoffs, he's playoff proven.

Like I said, just wanted to see what people think? He still sits 1st on their depth chart for 3rd base, but if the rookie does well....???
