glad colon isnt our problem...

i just read on mlbtraderumors.com that bartolo colon has now missed his last 2 winter ball starts and is yet to crack 90 miles an hour. im sure half of you have read that already cuz that site seems to give us a lot of our news here, but i think colons effectiveness is just about gone, i dont know if the big man can make it as a control pitcher. alright well leave your thoughts about tubby if you want, thanks

That's too bad...

but, like you said, I'm glad the Halos aren't counting on Colon in 2008. He was a good pitcher for the better part of 10 years, but that start in the ALDS vs. the Yanks in 2005 really sealed his fate. He was so solid that season - to have it derail at the end of the year was sad to see. I hoped for more production from him at the time of the signing and hoped for more health too - he was pretty darn healthy for his entire career until 2005.

Anyway, hope he gets well enough to take a run with someone in ST - I liked him ever since his opening day shutout of the Halos in 2002 - a game I attended. I stopped attending opening night games after 2002 for superstitious reasons. I was also in attendance on opening night, 1999 - the Mo Vaughn falling into the dugout night.
