Can the Red Sox come back from a 3-1 Championship Series deficit and will there be any real fans of the team in attendance among the pink hats there tonight?

So, why aren't they slobbering all over Varitek's awesome catching job?

Look at him, he’s going to peak at the batter … and call for a belt high fastball

Look on the bright side

at least we now have conclusive proof that baseball is rigged.

The last 4 years of Red Sox baseball “mystique” after their 86 year struggle have proven it beyond a reasonable doubt at this point.

Dude

As much as MLB, umpires, the national media, “The Nation,” etc., all love to stroke the Sawx, it’s not rigged. It’s just the way baseball works, I guarantee you. Teams go through prolonged slumps and prolonged “good” periods.

You think MLB rigged the Yankees to suck in the (late 60s? 80s? not certain of the years, here)? Again, I give you US the last eight years. We went from 41 games back in 2001 to the WS in 2002 and a TRUE contender ever since. This after forty years of suckitude and being one of the biggest laughingstocks in Major League Baseball.

Of course, MLB HAS seen a lot of “underdog” success stories recently…hmmm….maybe this Sawx thing is to re-establish a dynasty quick so we don’t get TOO complacent.

The orgasmic manlove blowfest of the TBS announcers is obvious.

The most bias I’ve encountered since Tommy Heinsohn manned the booth during all of those Lakers-Celtics games. May this game stick in Maddon’s craw enough to put Red Sox Nation out of their myopia/misery come Saturday.

You ever feel as if your mind had started to erode?

by PieceOfAase on Oct 16, 2008 9:36 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah, that was pretty disgusting

when the Red Sh!ts were way behind, all we heard were excuses like “Mike Lowell is injured” and crap like that, but when they came back I think the announcers were so ecstatic that they’d have undergone major elective surgery so they could have had JD Drew’s baby.

I’m done watching baseball this year. At this point, even if TB does go on to win, you just know that we’ll STILL hear more about Boston than either TB or Philly.

Never trust the Red Sox to lay down. Oh well, at least we get to watch a few more baseball games this post season.

Maddon will have the boys ready to play

I do not see them being shell shocked at all.

Bottom line: They took two of three from Fenway. Well played young Rays.

The Angels may have beat them 8 times in a row, but winning three before they do is all that matters.

by hauldog on Oct 17, 2008 9:33 AM PDT reply actions

It's perfect

I want this thing drawn out so Boston fans can suffer when the rug’s pulled from under them at the last minute. Nothing makes me happier than a Sox failure.

by Chris Knapp's Sac on Oct 17, 2008 11:56 AM PDT reply actions

Would have been better to have them blown out last night...

Should have been a 7-nuthin’ drubbing to end the season. That would have been more fun. Now, they have a sporting chance, doggone it.
