ALCS Game 5
Can the Red Sox come back from a 3-1 Championship Series deficit and will there be any real fans of the team in attendance among the pink hats there tonight?

So, why aren't they slobbering all over Varitek's awesome catching job?
Look at him, he’s going to peak at the batter … and call for a belt high fastball

They are too busy slobbering over his fancy gloves
its got a hidden rocket launcher or something that demolishes batters?

Here come the Sox
Gosh I can’t stand them. You can’t give them any extra life. They will take advantage of it. Looks like the series is going back to Tampa. And the Sox will probably win it all … AGAIN!
Joe, what the hell are you doing?
Wheeler sucks. Put in your closer. This is a winnable game.

You didn't do it
I was jinxed when the announcers were talking about 90 years since the Red Sox had been shut off and over 60 ABs since Ortiz his a home run!
Wheeler's stuff is unimpressive. Mediocre fastball. Not a good breaking ball.
Ain't no stoppin' us now. We got the groove!
Man these announcers are creaming themselves
I’d hate to have to clean up their press box after the game.
If GA wasn't so Lazy, I'd have something clever here.
Wheeler's fastball is junk. 90 mph and straight. No movement.

WHY IS HE STILL PITCHING
OH MY JESUS. I’m stressed out right now.

Look on the bright side
at least we now have conclusive proof that baseball is rigged.
The last 4 years of Red Sox baseball “mystique” after their 86 year struggle have proven it beyond a reasonable doubt at this point.

Dude
As much as MLB, umpires, the national media, “The Nation,” etc., all love to stroke the Sawx, it’s not rigged. It’s just the way baseball works, I guarantee you. Teams go through prolonged slumps and prolonged “good” periods.
You think MLB rigged the Yankees to suck in the (late 60s? 80s? not certain of the years, here)? Again, I give you US the last eight years. We went from 41 games back in 2001 to the WS in 2002 and a TRUE contender ever since. This after forty years of suckitude and being one of the biggest laughingstocks in Major League Baseball.
Of course, MLB HAS seen a lot of “underdog” success stories recently…hmmm….maybe this Sawx thing is to re-establish a dynasty quick so we don’t get TOO complacent.

epic failure by Maddon
I love the announcers talking about papelbon shutting down the rays, did he not give up a huge double to upton for 2 runs?

Very, very disappointing
I very much want to see the Red Sox humbled in game 6. A proper spanking.
I see red people
The orgasmic manlove blowfest of the TBS announcers is obvious.
The most bias I’ve encountered since Tommy Heinsohn manned the booth during all of those Lakers-Celtics games. May this game stick in Maddon’s craw enough to put Red Sox Nation out of their myopia/misery come Saturday.
You ever feel as if your mind had started to erode?
Yeah, that was pretty disgusting
when the Red Sh!ts were way behind, all we heard were excuses like “Mike Lowell is injured” and crap like that, but when they came back I think the announcers were so ecstatic that they’d have undergone major elective surgery so they could have had JD Drew’s baby.
I’m done watching baseball this year. At this point, even if TB does go on to win, you just know that we’ll STILL hear more about Boston than either TB or Philly.
don't forget...
JD Drew has Mickey Mantle-like power.
load the spaceship with the rocket fuel... load it with the warriors...
Ah, ha, ha, I can't believe the Rays got complacent and let that game slip out of their hands.
Never trust the Red Sox to lay down. Oh well, at least we get to watch a few more baseball games this post season.
Recipient of the 2008 "The Iron Man" award from scottnak of Halos Heaven!
Don't worry
Shields at home is nails and Beckett has been terrible in the playoffs. This is still the Rays’ series to win and I think they will bring it to the home town fans on Saturday.

Maddon will have the boys ready to play
I do not see them being shell shocked at all.
Bottom line: They took two of three from Fenway. Well played young Rays.
The Angels may have beat them 8 times in a row, but winning three before they do is all that matters.
It's perfect
I want this thing drawn out so Boston fans can suffer when the rug’s pulled from under them at the last minute. Nothing makes me happier than a Sox failure.

Would have been better to have them blown out last night...
Should have been a 7-nuthin’ drubbing to end the season. That would have been more fun. Now, they have a sporting chance, doggone it.
