Random Optimistic Teixeira Post
Found this random take from Steve Bisheff's blog on 710 ESPN. Despite his random "Hacksaw" Hamilton haircut and the ridiculous looking gotee, Bisheff had this to say about Mark Teixeira, Scott Boras, and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, with a little Manny thrown in:
"Listening to Scott Boras on several radio shows yesterday, I got the impression he and Manny Ramirez will definitely wait until all the bids are in before deciding on his future. But it sounded as if Mark Teixeira, another Boras client, would be very open to a fair Angels' offer . . ."

"Random, Santee! Random, Chula Vista!"
I think most free agents this offseason would like to play for the Angels, Tex and Manny included. Let me dare to dream: Arte goes bonkers and pays for Tex, Manny, Vlad, and GA. Yeah, ok, the dream’s over….

Two left fielders!
Imagine the defense!
If GA wasn't so Lazy, I'd have something clever here.

that would be terrible
all we need is tex. then morales goes in left or right and GA goes to KC or Florida.

That would be the best for all of us......
he retires as an Angel and he would not hurt us in one of his “hot streaks” with another AL team.
Put Kendry Morales at 1B, and move Sean Rodriguez to 3B......NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no way he retires
he is a career .290 hitter, and he did that again this year. he’ll get paid — not what he wants, but he’ll have a job for sure, whether it’s with the Angels or somewhere else.

Agree that he goes to 1 of the 2 teams you mentioned if he isn't a Halo
He won’t retire

Since
the Angels do get a 15 day window the day after the world series. I think they need to get that deal done in that window. If they cannot get it done then I do not see Tex coming back to Anaheim.

although I think the Yankees are the only team who Arte will be outbid by
so if Tex doesn’t want to play in New York, or they would rather go after CC. Then I think we will have the inside track.
On a side note I heard an interesting theory from a Yankee blogger that New York may want to use the first base position as a depository for old guys with big contracts. i.e. Damon and Posoda

if Tex signs in that 15 day period
he did so without boras’ consent. Dude is all about the free market. Although a huge offer with a timetable may be too tempting to pass up in the current economic situation. Hope they get it done.

Though in a "free market"
clubs would know about each others’ offers.

True...
Not the proper phrasing in this circumstance. The appropriate phrasing would be “Dude loves to play teams against each other.” And will likely wait for the period where other teams can bid on Tex so that Dude can drive the price up.

It is imperative to get Teix done early
so that if we know he is not coming back we at least offer him arbitration and ensure draft picks from the team that DOES sign him.

Do you think the...
“Offer he cannot refuse” is coming (not being sarcastic,or rhetorical, actual question)? Or is there another way we lock him in? I just hope they can get it done.

I think
the highest the Angels go is 6 years 150 million. If the yanks go over that our hopes and dreams are shattered. Im saying Yanks go 10 and 250 so our dreamsare prolly gonna get shattered

I get the feeling
They are going to break the bank on CC, and another FA pitcher: Burnett or Lowe. I don’t know if Tex is a priority for them. But then again i don’t know shit, just what the MSM feeds me.

I think (and hope)
That arte is gonna surprise us all with what he offers Tex. I can feel it.

I don't think it will be 250
He likely will go to the highest bidder. I think the Skanks will offer 10 years 200 million to Teix. Hopefully for the Angels he loves the perks of living in Southern CA.

Right
10 and 250 wont be what he gets, but that will be the yanks starting bid to brush off all the weak contenders. I just hope he takes little less money and more sunshine and beautiful women and play for the halos next year.
