Rev on AM 830
He was scheduled to be on from 8-9pm, but Biggsy wisely had him on for the rest of the show. The Rev did very well, combining Angels insight with his sharp and irreverent wit to make good radio for the fans. HH-ers did our best to contribute, but it was a great performance by the Rev that helped boost the image of HH and hopefully help this blog grow.

When I first saw that thing
it was in a post by Howiestheman, I immediately assumed that it was a joke of some sort.

You know why the Rev
won’t get one, right??
Cause Stephen(futureangels) ruined it for all bloggers. You know they took his credentials away, don’t you??

Stephen
was getting ready to go on another one of his “user supported trips” and just before he left to go, I guess he did something wrong—when he emailed to check on his credentials, they told him they weren’t going to give credentials to him or any other blogger— and he proceeded to bitch and moan on his blog, and last I heard, no bloggers were going to get any type of press credentials anymore.

he does seem a bit odd. but i can’t blame him for bitching, that’s pretty understandable… we might have to wait until fox buys sbn i suppose for a real (will they still be?) blogger to get around the scene

I doubt FOX will ever buy SBNation, since it is owned by Mark Moulitsas of DailyKOS.

I hope those who answered "bloggers are not journalists" at least acknowledge that what passes for journalism in the mainstream media today is crap.

Gray Area
Many journalists are at least accountable to the companies that employ them or public opinion or the powerful elite that they serve – bloggers are free to post whatever they want pretty much – the inability to truly control free speech is at the crux of the refusal to credential bloggers – and frankly, I see MLB’s point – since anyone can be a blogger, how can they verify that this a professional doing his job???

“since anyone can be a blogger, how can they verify that this a professional doing his job???”
you could $tart up the BGA (blogger$ guild) or $ome $uch guild for alternative media… afterall drudge is just a name (and mini-institution)
the rules for joining are a certain amount of revenue from the media…
even if it’s not respected by teams and governments you could $till $ee $ome mooooola

"bloggers are free to post whatever they want pretty much"
True, but if you post on a blog that has a reasonable amount of traffic, and you post something that is untrue, incorrect, or inaccurate, you almost always are instantly corrected by someone else on that blog. In this way I believe blogs are self- policing and hold themselves more accountable than the MSM that rarely allows the reader to respond to what they publish. The refusal to credential bloggers is in a large part to protect the MSM from competition they don’t really want to deal with except when it suits their needs.

What a great site this is...
I heard about HH from an article in Sports Illustrated and now I can’t stop logging on from work, disrupting productivity for sure. I love hearing all these Angel fans speak. I live in SF, these Giants fans are still bitter about 2002. Oh Game 6, what a great memory.

i go to SF often
my girlfriend has a good friend who is a TURBO giants fan. when i first met him, my gf mentioned to him that i was an Angels fan. he kinda sneeringly asked if i was a fan before 2002, and so we had a mild verbal tussle (polite and almost good-natured), until we realized that talking about our mutual hatred of the dodgers was more fun.

I found out about HH through Chronicles of the Lads
I was researching the collapse of 1995, as a lot of it was selectively forgotten. Chronicles has a great article on exactly what happened the entire season titled: “RISE, FALL, AND RISE AGAIN: THE 1995 ANGELS”
Mainly, I had googled “HERE LIES MARK LANGSTON” and found Chronicles; from there I found HH.
